I don’t even need to look at the stats to know the effort/reward ratio on any and all dating apps is pitifully low. In other words, dating apps do not work.
It’s simple logic: dating apps are businesses. That means, their primary motive is profit.
And if they actually delivered on the promise they make – i.e. to help you find a long-term partner – they would (say it with me now) GO OUT OF BUSINESS!
There’s only one way for a subscription-based dating app to make money: you must stay on the app! If you found a partner and left, they’d lose money and not make a profit. Most users stick with the free version, to they probably need to keep paying customers on there for a couple of months just to recoup their advertising costs before they even make money off you. And they need the freebie users to feel like paying is the only way to get something from the app, so they need to keep them on their long enough to get frustrated enough to start paying.
They cannot afford to let you succeed.
