Mind Your Mouth
I’ve made MANY mistakes in my life.
Mistakes that have led me to rock bottom multiple times.
Would I change those decisions if I could?
Absolutely, but I can’t. And most of these things I accept as part of the journey to get me to where I am today.
💯That said, the BIGGEST regrets I have are hurtful things that I have said.
Especially to people that loved me.
In the heat of moment we tend to not realize the long lasting effect words can leave behind.
And just like that, in a matter of seconds, friendships can be broken, relationships can be destroyed, and things are never the same.
When we speak without thinking of the consequences, we’re usually in fight or flight mode trying to protect our ego.
The truth is that both people end up being hurt.
So when we do this we’re sacrificing the standards of our character in exchange for the survival of our egos.
Everytime I have ever said something hurtful for the sake of trying to “win” an argument, not only did I hurt the person I was speaking to, but I felt like shit about myself after it was said.
So this is just a friendly reminder, keep those hurtful words to yourself.
Emotional control is a super power!
Learn to master it.
