We are being used!
This all started when my dad married my mom. My aunts and uncles from my dad's side constantly beg him for money, even though they have jobs. They always want what my dad has, despite the fact that he worked hard for everything he has since he was a teenager. My mom is never fooled by their tricks and always warns my dad, but he thinks she's just jealous of them and his friends. They manage to convince him by saying things like, "Give me the money and I'll get it back to you by tomorrow," but they never do. They disappear for weeks, keeping the money, and then come back without my dad realizing anything. I've also been used by my aunts and some friends. I’ve known a childhood friend for 15 years, since we were babies. His parents are incredibly stingy, even though his dad is wealthy. They never buy anything for him; he still uses a Samsung J5. One day, I went to his house to play on his Xbox. It asked me to sign in, so I used my account to log in so we could play together. My dad called, saying he was outside to pick me up, so I had to leave in a rush. I told my friend to remove my account from his Xbox, and he said he would, but he didn’t. Instead, he found a glitch that let him log into my account, then switch back to his, allowing him to use my Xbox Live and download games I bought with my money for free. I told him to stop, but he didn’t listen. Another time, he invited me to his birthday party. I bought him a $100 gift card, and he was happy. But when he came to my birthday, he brought nothing. He just came to the party, played in the swimming pool, ate expensive steak, and then left. In your opinion, would you still call him a best friend? I certainly don’t. He continues to act the same way. Back to my aunts and uncles: Last year, my mom suffered from leukemia. My aunt saw it as an opportunity, thinking my mom would pass away, and asked my dad for her jewelry and other belongings. They actually wanted my mom to die so they could take her things. I didn’t get to celebrate 2020 with my mom; I only got to video call her. Now, she is okay and living her life in quarantine, but my dad is stuck in another country because they closed the airport due to COVID-19. He can’t come back, and he still hasn’t told my aunts and uncles that he's there, even though they live in the same country.

Isn't it a miracle?
Having the ability to reset the last 8 seconds whenever I want. All I have to do is clap my hands together—not with the palms, but the backsides. It took some experimenting, but I discovered that I can't continuously go back. I have to let the full 8 seconds pass, or clapping just loops me back to the time I first went back to. It doesn't matter if it's 4 seconds or 7; I can't escape until my 8-second advantage passes. This miracle has saved me so many times in a pinch. It's saved me from tripping. Saved me from getting hit by a car. Saved me from my crazy ex throwing a toaster at my head. So many small yet helpful dodges. But tonight... tonight is different... The alarm clock reads 2:21 AM... Over and over and over. Every few seconds, I clap to escape it. I was just trying to sleep, but that thing opens my closet door and rushes towards me, trying to tear into me with its long, greasy nails. I thought this ability was a miracle, but I barely escaped being scratched on the first clap. It felt like my skin was searing... I keep managing to clap before it reaches me, but I can't get out of this loop no matter what I try. I never make it to the door. I never manage to fight it off. I never get past 8 seconds. For the first time since I got this ability two years ago... I'm so scared...
