One journal or several?
So the conventional bullet journal wisdom is that if you keep everything in one journal you will always know where everything is, it integrates your life, etc. But recently I started an art notebook to keep track of ideas for paintings and it quite rapidly turned into a kind of bullet journal. So my question is: do you use just one journal at a time, or do you have several on the go at once? What do you put in a different journal? And what do you like about your approach?

I have several which is great for STM’s bottom line 🤣
Therapy + Journaling
I've been in therapy for a few months now and just started to really get to some difficult topics. For me, that's recently looked like setting boundaries and not doing everything for everyone else all the time trying to "help." Since my last session I've journaled every day as I learn to stop overextending myself in nearly every relationship. It's freeing, and exhausting. I'm so glad I have journaling to go to whenever I need to relax & get out of my head. Was wondering if anyone else has a similar experience or writing / journaling activities that have helped you along the way 🌱

The sense of release is good, but don’t l let that get in the way of concrete action. Sometimes I just need to let go, and sometimes there’s more to it.

It doesn’t have to be one thing, but I really feel like journaling nourished something in ourselves and allows us to project out in ways we may not be able to otherwise. So, I think that connection to creativity, process, projects, and purpose is really important.

@Sharlene Lovell I love this idea. I also find freedom in drawing, doodling, and writing things down. My movement disorder can also make it be a lot to get up and do things sometimes.
What are you reading?
Lots of people in the intros thread said that they liked reading so I thought we should have a bookish thread! 📖 What are you reading at the moment? Are you enjoying it? Didn’t you love it when…? Let us know! Please make sure to clearly mark spoilers if you’re going to post details about books!

Got some new books this week: Puzzleheart by Jenn Reese is a middle grade for 9-12 year olds(I write for that age group). It’s about a child trying to make peace between her dad and grandma, but the puzzle house her Grandfather built has other ideas of how to help. Also, Steven Rowley’s The Guncle Abroad, a sequel to his earlier book I enjoyed.

@Alex H yep, Jenn is a friend. All their books have non-binary rep with some fantastical element and often puzzles or unique obstacles. They also include different family structures. Not necessarily LGBTQ always but single parents and strained relationships one way or another. Perigree’s Dad in Puzzleheart was raised by his lesbian aunts after his father died and his mom was grieving. Every Bird a Prince also includes ace rep with beautiful bird illustrations.

I’m a writer and teacher in Houston TX. I have multiple journals for writing, spiritual growth, and just free writing. I write queer kidlit and have had my first book out on sub to editors for the last year. I really hope it makes so I have more time to journal 🤪

@Grace Hoover kidlit featuring characters who identify as LGBTQ folks, themes, and concerns. Often the child protagonist and often some adults in their life as well.
