@Jose Rivas occasionally. If it starts getting smelly, I just add more carbon to it ( wood chips or charcoal, usually.) My biggest problem here is fire ants!
Mulching??
What mulch do you use? Do you use mulch? I use straw because it's easy to get bales and it's easy to spread. The only thing I don't like is I feel like it takes a long time to start to break down into the soil.

@Jose Rivas depends on the plant. But as soon as possible and heavily mulch everything. We get long periods of dry weather in the summer here in Georgia
