Check in, Let them Know you Care
Reaching out to someone who may be feeling alone or isolated is a small act that can make a big difference. A simple message, call, or visit can remind them that they are valued and cared for. ⚡ Today’s action is to contact someone who may be alone or feeling isolated. Loneliness can be a heavy burden, and knowing someone is thinking of them can bring comfort and hope. Taking the time to connect shows them they are not forgotten and creates a sense of belonging. It's important. With everything I've been going through, guess how many people checked in on me Thanksgiving day? Only 2 people, and neither were family. Holidays are hard for many people who may actually seem fine. 💖 Send a heartfelt message: Reach out with a text or email letting them know you’re thinking of them and asking how they’re doing. 💖 Make a phone or video call: Hearing your voice and engaging in a real conversation can make their day. 💖 Plan a visit or invite them out: If possible, spend time with them in person to strengthen your connection. These small gestures of kindness can be the light someone needs to feel supported and loved. "Too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word, a listening ear, an honest compliment, or the smallest act of caring—all of which have the potential to turn a life around." – Leo Buscaglia "No act of kindness, no matter how small, is ever wasted." – Aesop "Sometimes the most ordinary things could be made extraordinary, simply by doing them with the right people." – Elizabeth Green Take a moment today to reach out, it might mean more to them than you know. ❓💬 Who will you contact today, and how will you brighten their day?

This is so true! Holidays might be much harder than usual for people who are alone and lonely - this is what we talked about with some of my community members, too. I will contact more distant family members, acquaintances and some of my audience members today - I love leaving voice messages, this is what I actually miss a lot on Skool.
acknowledging kindness received
Gratitude has a remarkable way of uplifting our spirits and strengthening our connections with others. By acknowledging the kindness we've received, we not only honor those who have touched our lives but also cultivate a deeper sense of happiness within ourselves. ⚡ Today’s action is to give thanks by listing the kind things others have done for you. Reflecting on the generosity and support we've experienced helps us appreciate the positive influences in our lives. It encourages us to express gratitude, which can deepen relationships and spread warmth to those around us. 💖 Create a gratitude list: Write down at least five acts of kindness you've received, whether they're recent or from the past. 💖 Express your thanks: Reach out to someone on your list and let them know how their kindness impacted you. 💖 Share your appreciation: Tell a friend or family member about the positive influence others have had on you, spreading the gratitude even further. Remember, recognizing these moments can brighten your day and inspire others to continue their acts of kindness. Gratitude turns what we have into enough. "The roots of all goodness lie in the soil of appreciation for goodness." – Dalai Lama "Feeling gratitude and not expressing it is like wrapping a present and not giving it." – William Arthur Ward Take a moment today to acknowledge and appreciate the kindness you've received, it can create a ripple effect of positivity in your life and the lives of others. ❓💬 What act of kindness are you most grateful for, and how did it make a difference in your life?

I like the direction of gratitude you suggest, Wendy. Not just feel it for ourselves, but sharing our appreciation with the people who have enriched our lives. I am going to follow your advice and do it with every person I interact with today. Thank you!
Progress Takes Time ~ Be Kind!
It’s easy to be hard on ourselves when progress feels slow, but self-kindness is essential. Be gentle with yourself and remember that growth takes time. Take Action for Happiness: ⚡ Be kind to yourself today. Remember, progress takes time. ⚡ In our fast-paced world, we often expect quick results. But real, lasting progress comes from steady effort over time. Being kind to yourself allows you to celebrate small wins and stay motivated, even when the journey is slow. Self-kindness helps reduce stress and fosters resilience, making it easier to continue growing. When you practice patience and kindness toward yourself, you create space for sustainable, long-term progress. How can you practice this today? 💖 Acknowledge your progress: Reflect on how far you’ve come, even if it feels small. Every step counts toward your bigger goals. 🤗 Practice self-kindness: Speak to yourself like you would a close friend. When you feel frustrated, remind yourself that progress takes time and you’re doing your best. 🎉 Celebrate your efforts: Take a moment to reward yourself for your hard work, whether that’s with a break, a treat, or simply a positive affirmation. ❓💬 What’s one way you’ll be kind to yourself today?

I created a very ambitious schedule for the launch of an event next week - I will be kind to myself and do only what is possible, with a little - not too much - stretch.
Unnecessary Plans?
It's the last weekend of Self-care September before we fall into Optimistic October 🍂 Today's ✨ Action for Happiness ✨ Free up time by canceling any unnecessary plans. Why is this key for self-caring? If you're anything like me you often pack your schedule with commitments, believing you need to do it all. This can lead to burnout and overwhelm. Giving yourself permission to cancel unnecessary plans creates space for rest, reflection, and recharging. It’s a way of taking back control over your time and energy—an essential part of self-care. By freeing up time, you create more room for the things that truly matter, whether that’s connecting with loved ones, enjoying some quiet time, or preparing for the fresh start of Optimistic October. Remember, it’s okay to say “No” when you need to prioritize yourself. ✨ How can you free up time this weekend? 🗓️ Review your commitments: Look at your schedule and ask yourself: Are these plans necessary or important? If not, give yourself permission to cancel them without guilt. Time is precious, and you deserve to protect your energy. 💬 Communicate with kindness: When canceling plans, be kind and clear. Let others know you need some time for yourself or that you’re simply unable to commit. Most people will understand and appreciate your honesty. 🌿 Use the free time mindfully: Once you’ve cleared your schedule, embrace that extra time for something meaningful—whether it’s rest, self-care, or preparing for the exciting month ahead. Finish Self-care September strong by giving yourself the gift of time. ❓💬 What’s one unnecessary plan you can let go of this weekend?

Great tips, Wendy! I have no plans for this weekend - I am travelling tomorrow to meet my son's family and my two grand daughters. So the plan is to enjoy our reunion fully!
