@Rochele Roden I've said thing to myself and even created a comment to get more insight. When I learn of a new style through text/comments, I go straight to YouTube and Google for a visual and text description. Snapping is a roller skating style that originated in Maryland and Washington, D.C. It is a one-foot 180 pivot technique. While it was originally a solo skating style, it's common for skaters to have a partner to help with the moves. JB skating, or James Brown style roller skating, is a roller skating style that originated in Chicago and is known for its smoothness, footwork, and aggressive tone. The style is set to the music of James Brown and other Rhythm and Blues artists, and skaters work out routines to the beat. Other Styles: https://www.usarollersports.org/culture-roll
Nutrition Guide 🥑
I made this nutrition guide to share with my SK8 fam. This is meant to be a simple resource for improving your overall health and fitness so that you feel like your best self when it's time to lace up. This guide was inspired by my personal fitness and SK8 journey, as well as my time in the Air Force as a Chef and fitness Specialist. Learning over time, the different foods to stay healthy and get some gains. I will release a video about this today for Day 54 of 100-day Skate School. Feel free to comment any thoughts or feedback!🕺🏽

Many Thanks 🙏🏾🫶🏾🧘🏾‍♀️
How many hours per week skating?
How many hours per week do you average on your quads? I go in and out depending on weather, time, other things, etc. but I'm shooting for at least 7-9 ( at least one hour practice per day 5 days/week plus one rink session where I can apply, try to flow and just play. I'd love to do more but need to be realistic about my time right now.

I love the sport but do not prioritize my training. I see it as this... I don't want to set unrealistic expectations or pressures on myself. So I skate in my leisure time. I work less than part time at a rink so that I do have at least a day or two (3 to 6 hours depending on the day) that I am immersed in the community and can skate. Training wise, I have an alarm on my phone for mid-day Meditation 🧘‍♀️ and that can include any activity (or lack thereof) that brings me peace and happiness. Some days I skate for 30-45 minutes. Some days it's yoga, biking, or creating. Some days it's watching inspirational videos or doing just doing nothing. I do want to improve on my skills and try new things. But I do so with grace. Im in no race at all. Just learning and enjoying the journey as I go.

@Victoria Kirby Anne Arundel Co. How about you?
What's Your Skating Style
Hey Sk8 fam what's your skating style and how did you choose? Did you naturally gravitate to a particular style? Did you study all styles? What styles are out there? What are your go to moves and practice tips for your style? Growing up, I only experienced the style frequently expressed at my local rink and that was mostly "maintaining balance and going fast". Honestly, I can't really identify the local style. But if i had to choose I would say it was close to jam or dance. Lol I'm still trying to navigate the different styles and techniques. Im sure there is a benefit to learning all styles. Help educate me Sk8 fam!
