Fear vs. Faith: Which One is Leading You?
Fear and faith. They are two forces that often battle for control in our lives. Fear tells us to stay in the safety of what we know, while faith calls us to step into the unknown, trusting in what we cannot yet see. But here’s the truth: both fear and faith demand that we believe in something we can’t fully see. Fear asks us to believe in worst-case scenarios, in all the ways things can go wrong. Faith asks us to trust in the goodness of God, even when the path ahead is unclear. When I made the decision to lay down my $300K/year business, it wasn’t without fear. Every logical part of me wanted to hold on to what was working, to stay where I was comfortable and in control. But deep down, I knew I wasn’t operating in the full vision God had for me. Faith whispered that there was something more—something I couldn’t see yet, but had to trust was there. And that’s when I had to make the choice: would I stay in fear or walk by faith? The moment I chose faith, things didn’t instantly become easier. There were still challenges and moments when fear crept back in, but that step of faith unlocked doors I couldn’t have imagined. God is faithful to redeem what we give to Him in obedience. Fear will always shout the loudest when you’re on the verge of something great. It’s the last attempt to keep you small, to keep you stuck. But faith whispers, “I’ve got something better—just trust Me.” Which one are you listening to today? Reflection: What is fear holding you back from right now? What would it look like to take a step of faith instead? Remember, faith isn’t the absence of fear; it’s choosing to move forward despite it.
