Memorizing lyrics
With each concert we perform, our director has us memorize more of our music. Now we are up to 4 pieces, and it is really difficult for me to remember the lyrics. The "repeating it over and over method" doesn't really work. I think I have had the best luck with posting the lyrics on my bathroom mirror, and I can't leave the room without going through them at least once. Even then it takes a long time. What works for you?

The more I hear or sing the piece, the better I remember it.
Not saying that I will... but
I'm curious what you would name this group if not "pretend choir" Some of my thoughts - Real choir - Digital Choir - Choir Online add your thoughts below

I first though Virtual Choir, but I like the superlatives suggestions!
I could use your help!
I’m curious if you could give me some feed back on the group… be honest you won’t hurt my feelings 1. What the group means to you 2. Why are you still here? 3. Do you tell your friends about it?

I'm in a rural area and cannot drive at night, which is when most community choirs rehearse. This group is an outlet for singing I cannot get on the residential high school campus where I teach (I do not teach music). I've told my friends, especially the choral ones, several times, but most of them are in at least one community and busy with careers/family and I am not sure they joined.

@Shawna Wright So am I! Hoping I can use the results to help recruit some friends searching for a different choral experience!
Stop robo calls by using your musical knowledge!
Wouldn't you love to get telemarketers to hang up on you and take your name off their lists? Here is a way to use your choral abilities to cut way down on robocalls! I answer the call, and then speak only Latin. Usually I use the lyrics to O Come All Ye Faithful or part of a Requiem Mass. For example, "Adeste Fideles? Laeti triumphantes? Veníte?" By then, the person usually asks if I speak English and then hangs up when I say no because they can never figure out what language I am actually talking in! This has worked much more effectively than when I signed up for the Do Not Call list or when I just blocked the calls. Give it a try!

I have a new short term goal! I wonder if I can put that as one of my professional goals - you know, see how closely my department head reads my yearly goals.

@Raydeen Belliard that's what I do - teach and fill out paperwork (LOL!).

I might be a math and CS teacher by day, but music is in my blood.
