Coaching new players
How do you start teaching layup. I see in the kids section it starts with the first step finish is that what you suggest? I have started to work on a two foot finish first as these girls are little and we have to play on full size basket seems also that is the shot we get the most. So with the little practice time we get and it is what happens most in game is why I have chose this. I want to know what you think is the way to introduce layups with 3rd 4th 5th grade girls. Would be good to get Micah's and Bryce's perspective on this, but in general I would start with the second step finish for most young players. A first step finish (aka "wrong foot" finish) is a bit more advanced and takes more balance, and could be awkward initially for both girls and boys.
