I made this in high school.
I made this in high school wood shop about thirty years ago. Risner is my mother’s last name. My mother gave it to my nephew, who’s last name is also Risner, who hangs it at his home.

Nice job
Turning on the lathe
Decided I need to learn my way around lathe work. This piece is not sophisticated, but it's the first bowl I've turned in nearly 40 years.

Always good to learn something new. Pretty good for a first bowl
A BIG SIGN
I had made this sign as a donation to a local MMA FiTNESS class that my children were attending. Unfortunately they never put it up and went out of business. I don’t know what happened to the sign. I was super bummed because I was hoping this was going to showcase my work in the community and people driving past in the highway. Oh well. I’ve since went a different way, nobody wants to pay much for custom hand carved signs when they can have one laser cut cheaply on Amazon. At least I haven’t had much luck, a few interested but then shocked at how much I want.

Yeah, know what you mean, but I can get that for a whole lot less than that.... Nobody takes into consideration all the time and craftsmanship that goes into making something from scratch. As you said it's cheaper just to crank it out like every other mass produced item. No real skill or craftsmanship -- becoming a lost art.
How About an Adirondack Chair?
Have you ever built an Adirondack Chair? These popular chairs are amazingly comfortable, if they're built right. Doing that is a bit tricky; but I found the formula for making one. Join me as I do this build. Patterns are available for the more complicated parts. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ODXfq-I5XXc

Adirondack Chairs are detailed, and they look nice; but with all the wisdom I've gained that has shifted from my head to my midsection they are extremely difficult to extricate oneself from once seated. That being said, I can't see this on my build list.
Finally Built a Router Table
Been meaning to build myself a router table for at least a year now. The table I've been using was the smallest, cheapest one sold, 30-years ago. It worked; but really wasn't big enough, especially when I started cutting my own baseboard and door casing. Here's the video of my build. It's not fancy; but highly functional.

Nice table, not fancy but definitely functional. I agree drawers aren't needed. I would however add some doors. Maybe a set of 3 sliding doors so each section is fully accessible. The BIG reveal is the now standard feature on many newer routers that allows for height adjustments from the table top without the need for an expensive lift mechanism. Just have to check my routers and see which, if any, have that feature. (I think I have that same SKIL router).
