I don't understand
All of these platforms offer ad-marketing resources that allow us to reach their cache of available subscribers. I've noticed that a lot of people are spending so much money promoting on TikTok, IG, Facebook, Twitter and the likes in order to lead them back to Spotify & YouTube, instead of just running ads on Spotify & YouTube 🤯. I don't know what the hell a song blowing up on TikTok/IG has to do with the numbers going up on Spotify, and I'm not even gonna try to make it make sense. So many individuals with millions of subscribers are getting millions of likes but can't even sell 1,000 albums because there's a big diff between a follower and a consumer. Sorry for going off on a tangent, but: just focus on spending your money where you'll atleast be able to getting a little of it back. Once you get enough money back from Spotify after consistently promoting, (preferably 6 to 8 months worth) there are companies out there willing to generate an advance in exchange for a percentage of your royalties and pub. My bad for the tangent again, just thinking 🤔 OAN: Don't underestimate a fan... they don't need to constantly see you in order to check for you. Mystique actually attracts the base to the artist. Having to wait on press to deliver news about the artist is way more eventful than watching these mf oversaturate the feed with content

voice
as a rapper what do you do if you don't have a good voice, i like creating music and i put good lyrics and flows and rap on beat and have good cadence I just don't like how my voice sounds on the track , any tips?

yeah man i didn't like my voice when i first started to be honest. i sounded like a 70 year old lady who still smokes two packs a day it was pretty brutal. looking back on my early journey now tho i became obsessed with coming up with catchy melodies. at the time my process was three notes. i would spend time finding notes i liked for a melody. for me three notes i liked helped me create something catchy and then over time that process helped develop my voice / learning how to sing with autotune because if im being honest i still cant really sing i just know my voice. feels like i should mention i learned music theory not sure if i would give credit to that helping me find my voice but music theory definitely helped me play with notes and create melodies for songs.

In 2023 does booking 50/hr studio sessions still make sense or does it make more sense to invest in a nueman tlm mic and an Apollo twin and just insulate the garage?

i have my own equipment at the house and went to school for engineering i dont consider myself an engineer tho. for me its good to have my equipment so i can always stay working on ideas. but i like to be in a studio man . i always request the loudest room they have and i just go lock in. for me its nice to not have to spend energy on engineering the music i can just focus on locking in. but dont get me wrong brothea having your own equipment at the house is a massive W.
