Seeking to learn more and develop more network
I'm determined to make the most of my learning. I've been looking at the efficiency of the skool platform, not really a big fan, but we can't argue against facts. So, based on that, I will engage again with the new guys in the community and go for a 3rd round of learning. I'm excited as I've seen this community turn around some amazing results on youtube. I'm still learning, I'm patient and hopefully will be able to contribute with some of the new guys as well. We have some amazing content coming out on youtube in December and January, a bit of a change of styles and storytelling. Let's see how that will turn around. In the mean time, here are some thumbnails I'm trying for the next few titles: 1. I'm 40. If You're In Your 20's or 30's, Watch This (Literally copied titled to try and authority surfing. I'm actually 41 but I'm wondering if I should change the title, what do you guys think?) 2. New Year's resolution never really work. Do this instead. 3. 3 Lessons I learned from Filming 30 days of content in Just 1 Day These videos are all coming out in the next month or so.

@Pedro Alexandrino dead link. update?
Getting Started...RIGHT NOW
I've been really digging into a LOT of what Omar is talking about. I've been devouring a ton of content lately, and I'd love to get started. Mentorship is key. Been listening to a lot The Social Proof, Omar's Video Dept, a recent interview on the 505 Podcast, Myron Golden, Jereshia Said, The Table with AO, tons of motivational stuff, and, frankly, far too many other podcasts about coaching. My cup is FULL. I've been in the content creation game for a VERY long time. I get the technical. I get being in front of camera. What I don't have is clarity. This might be a great place to start a conversation amongst creatives motivated to focus on entrepreneurial content instead of the traditional approach looking for validation through creation. As an unemployed 'creative', this has been an eye-opening journey. I can't wait until l'm in a position to afford even the 500.00 a year offer that David Shands talks about on his Morning Meetup, or even Omar's challenges. In the meantime, I want to get started and moving. My focus leans towards empowering creatives to break the mindset of 'lucky to be here' and showing examples of empowerment and knowing your worth. Let's Talk!

@Arron Johnson I've been stuck because I want to completely get out of the content area that I was involved with before. I've lost my passion/interest in any of that stuff and want to focus solely on the entrepreneurial side of creative ventures. There are far too many broke creatives that have no clue about how to look out for themselves and their future. Getting clarity about how to build that is where I am now.

@Isabella Sanchez Castaneda Hey! Thanks for responding. Sorry for taking so long to reply to this. I've actually been getting ready to post my first video for this weekend. Ironically, yesterday, I had someone reach out to me to edit their YouTube podcast videos. It was a position I applied for out of desperation over 3 months ago, and they finally hit me back. I'm in a TOTALLY different mental space now, but yesterday we had a zoom meeting for the job. The guy wanted to pay something that was really low, but common in today's market. However, throughout the call, the guy was listening to what I had to say about improving pretty much everything he does - and I don't just mean technical stuff. I gave him comparable YouTube channels to watch, and told him that instead of being concerned about how he would struggle to pay me 200.00 to edit his videos weekly (a VERY low rate), my job would be to help him monetize and create a business structure that the 200.00 shouldn't be a concern. He was totally hooked and wanted to hire me as a consultant. He took the game that I gave him and I'm pretty sure that he's reanalyzing his entire perspective. I know that he can't hire me as a consultant now, and that he can - and should - probably just grab an overseas editor from Fivver. The takeaways here were two fold, though: 1. I provided value to this guy and he believed what I inspired him to rise to, which felt amazing. He CAN do it, but just needed a new perspective. I removed myself from the equation and WANTED to give him advice to elevate him, whether he hired me or not. I think that's what Omar and Golden call 'Community Service'. I don't care about his 200.00, but I do care that he's on a new path towards something that he might need my consultation for at exponentially more money. 2. I have NO idea how the heck I would help this guy actually make real tangible money. That's the mentorship that *I* need help figuring out! However, the real gem here is that I've NEVER believed that my knowledge base and experience had any value other than what was assigned to me. I'm an Omar and David Shands path, but never knew how to achieve it. This interaction, along with these podcasts, are actually really helping me crystallize what I want to do and HOW to do it.
Question that needs an answer!
I'm storyboarding my content and I have a question about authenticity. What is too real or too open? Part of my content will be about life - successes and failures. This portion of my channel will be about personal growth. I have experienced a failed relationship and I'm working through it. Would talking about it be too raw or too open? I'm on the fence about it...

for a long time, I struggled with this too. However, you have to remember that there's a fine line between providing value for someone else, and creating public therapy for yourself. It's all about context and delivery. Always keep in mind the purpose of your podcast and the goal that you're trying to achieve, as well as the audience you're speaking to. For example, the same story of failing in your relationship - when delivered in the package of personal growth and triumph, textured with personal observations of growth and new action - is inspirational to the audience that you're serving. Compare it to the same story filled with the taint of bitterness, slight cynicism, and no real action or reflection. Same person, same details, different clothes. Authenticity, vulnerability, and transparency are AMAZING and absolutely draws people in. People definitely want to connect and relate with YOU, see themselves in YOU. However, PLEASE be sure to do the mental work on yourself first. One thing that I'm learning as I watch more of the successful YouTubers in this space, is that their momentum began when they changed their mental. Everything changed. No idea where you are in your journey, friend, but I can't wait to hear your stories on your channel. I enjoy feeling the inspirational narrative of triumph from people who had similar travails to my own, than commiserating in misery over some misfortune in the past ;) We can only WIN going forward! You got this!

Great videos Lonnell. I'm definitely interested in going into the same category! Been watching a LOT of coaching videos and looking to get away from the tech content that I used to be associated with. Keep going, man!

Connell, what’s your business goal for the channel? I understand the social goal, but where are you trying to go towards profitability? I’m only asking because I’ve been really trying to make the content creator path make sense, right? I’ve been watching a lot of Social Proof and the lines are so blurred between offering a service, entertainment, and a product that offers value worth paying for.
Congratulations too me
I'm 49 years old, and while I initially worked at a restaurant job earning $500 a month, I've recently seen significant success in setting my brand on Shopify and selling my crafting products. My sister, who has had great results with Shopify, introduced me to the business. With her guidance, I launched my own brand on Shopify store and am now making $8k a month. If you're interested in learning more or want to exchange ideas, feel free to reach out.

Congratulations! That's a big deal. Cutting through the noise and being able to sell ANYTHING on these platforms is an accomplishment. Having a mentor (your sister in this case) was a huge leg up! I want to get my 10 year old daughter interested in business now, and I'd love to hear more about what you did! We went through the slime phase. Now she's into nails ;)
