Thoughts on Brokers requiring asset tracking.
The number of apps an asset is required to use, in order to provide tracking data to broker customers varies. Brokers are increasingly insisting that assets use their apps to guarantee business. It is debatable whether a broker should demand such visibility and, if so, whether this should be a direct cost charged to the broker, considering they only require proof of delivery. Thoughts?

Truckstop Stoy
"Stopped at a Love's because my 4-year-old needed the bathroom. Heard a voice say 'hello' from the next stall. We replied, 'hi.' Then, 'how are you?' I said, 'great.' Next, 'any plans for the night?' Realized it was a guy talking on his cell in the stall next to us #TruckStopStories"

Got to be Legit!
When onboarding a new carrier. which one of these email accounts would you TRUST that the carrier/driver is legit! LOL Gmail Yahoo MSN Mac AOL In my opinion it’s the AOL accounts we should trust. These usually are accounts for the driver with the 99 Peterbuilt from Alabama who still buys the country cds at the truck stops and is just ready for another load. The new scumbags in our industry use all the other email accounts… Because they have never heard of AOL! 😂 😝 😆

To be honest, if a carrier/broker ends with any one of those domains, I'm immediately skeptical. I like to see that someone has taken the time to order their own Domain name and set up a website. I also like to take a moment to look up the domain registration to see if it's legit as well. You can see when it was created and a lot of other verifications. Goes back to my IT days. My advice, if you like the carrier/broker with one of those domains, send them my way. I'll help them come up to speed and ditch those domains. :)
Payment Terms in Freight
What do you think the average Freight payment term with a shipper is? Net 15, Net 30, Net 60, Net 90? Whats the longest payment term you allow and why?

We had a few accounts that would pay the smaller invoices, but then skip the larger invoices. It seems as though those larger ones, would creep out to 60+, but the smaller ones would be paid Net 30. Agreed with @Bill Robinson Keep excellent records. Have had a few customer nit pick on any minor charges.
Shock, Nuclear and Reptile Verdicts
Cannot remember who asked( apologies) about the links and lawyers book teaching other lawyers how to sue carrier. The first link is my self promoting of my article from LI. The second is the presentation done by the US attorney and Canadian attorney at the Insurance presentation. If you are an asset carrier operating in IL, CA, TX and FL top 4 states. If you are a carrier please do not advertise for the people trying to rock our industry. (1) Lawyers hunting payouts: Shock, Nuclear and Reptile Verdicts growing. | LinkedIn

Keep your Ducks in a row and pray. A Friend of mine lost his company due to an unfortunate accident. The Company was dissolved, and Insurance claims were paid out. I lived with his pain as he went through it. He's doing well now, but it was a rough time.
