AI Agents are not that good today and do not kill the global communications grid that is the internet or threaten it any more than other things like attempts by governments to KYC everyone to even use it.

Exercise Caution with Big Tech AI Integration
Privacy advocates are raising alarms over Microsoft's new Recall feature, which takes frequent screenshots on Copilot+ PCs. Despite Microsoft's assurances of privacy and security, experts warn of potential misuse and recommend users consider open-source systems like Linux to better control their data privacy. The UK Information Commissioner's Office is investigating the safety of this feature. article

The problem here is a) It is a Big Tech company thus PRISM and other worries apply b) this "integration" works by AI getting full keylogging and snapshots of screen to parse and understand c) the results are not stored securely on device d) due to proprietary nature of OS no way to prove this is not also available off machine. So effectively you have full client side scanning of EVERYTHING and and communication on the machine BEFORE any encryption can be applied or after encrypted data is decrypted. This is the end of privacy in potential. Now I would love a Jarvis like full digital assistant but ONLY on an OS I trust and can dig into along with even more capable geeks to be sure it is not total surveillance from Dystopian Hell.

These distinctions are important. Overall this was a very slick video production. Some had not that related imagery or the homespun explanation didn't really nail the distinctions. Other parts were pretty on point. Overall AI is simply an attempt to make computers exhibit and act with more intelligence. Dreams of computer systems doing most any intelligent activity and especially of learning go back to at least the early 60s and that is only in the "modern" era. There is a well known joke in AI in the broad sense that until someone gets a computer system to do it it is "AI". Once a computer system can do it it is not "AI" but just clever programming. :)
