How Homelessness Taught Me the Value of Community
I was homeless throughout my entire childhood and into my early twenties. Experiencing homelessness exposed me to a side of humanity that no one is prepared for—the cold stares, the judgment, the times I was overlooked as if I didn’t exist. It was in those moments, when kindness was withheld from me, that I learned its true value. I realized how deeply a small act of kindness can touch someone’s heart, how it can restore dignity when the world seems to strip it away. Not being treated kindly taught me the power of compassion, and now, I strive to offer the kindness I once longed for, knowing how it can change a life. It also taught me the value of community and the impact of kindness—or the lack of it. In those moments when I felt invisible, I learned how important it is to be seen, heard, and supported. This is why Skool resonates with me so deeply. It's not just a platform; it’s a community where everyone has a place, where kindness and support are at the core. My journey taught me to value these connections, and now, through Skool, I can help create a space where people feel welcomed, understood, and uplifted—something I once desperately needed.
