Great job Harry!
Pulping Process
Good day peers, anyone with pulping process experience to share his/her insights about the role of PE's in these type of plants? stuff that you don't see on you tube such as plant size or class, cleanliness, general environment.

I’ve been working in a paper mill for the past 17 years and counting and am a shift engineer. Depending on what type of mill it is will affect the answers. Kraft mills and pulp mills tend to be larger and have more of a smell. If you’re in the steam plant for a mill then it will depend on what you’re burning (natural gas, bunker c, waste oil, etc ) as far as smell is concerned. We’re in charge of the effluent system here and the smell from that process isn’t great, but you get used to it. As @Jolan Dreyer has stated the pay is good, but oil and gas is better. Hope this helps.

@Omer Osman sorry it didn’t work out for you, always keep trying, always keep looking. I didn’t get into the Power Engineering field until I was almost 40, 17 years later and I’m still trying to better myself to achieve greater stability and job satisfaction. Good luck in all of your endeavours.
Good morning
First month at new job glad I took the chance. Hope everyone had a good Thanksgiving

Power Engineering Challenges
What would you say is one of the most challenging aspects of being a power engineer in your current role? Specifically relating to working in a team environment?

The importance of your role within the organization. When the equipment is running it is taken for granted/ignored for the most part; but when equipment is down and production comes to a standstill then all eyes are on you.
Passed 3b2. 3 more exams to go
Just passed my 3b2 . Thank you power engineering 101 team. The 3b2 practice exam questions were quite helpful Wording was quite tricky on this one. Lots of turbine, compressors, gas turbine, pumps and refrigeration questions. Some weird admin and cooling tower questions thrown in
