I'm getting ready to start a greenhouse. Anyone have any tips or advice?

I'm starting a big one this year (30x100) but in the past had good success with a 10x20. The thing that caught me by surprise is how fast they heat up in the afternoon sun. Be sure to plan for plenty of ventilation. I also used mine as a place for my plant starts in March with a little supplement heat. If you'd like some pictures I'd be glad to post if you want. Just let me know.
Why do you grow food?
For me it was all about the taste. Why do you grow your own food? Here is a study that looked at nutrient loss from UC Davis.

For me it's for food safety. I grow pesticide free, for the most part. As well as varieties not easily obtained locally such as Black Krim tomatoes, speckled butter beans and purple hulled peas. Nothing beats the taste of something fresh from the garden. With my greenhouse I have food outside its normal availability in the store.
Family farm adventures
I'm about 50 miles south of Atlanta GA revitalizing a small 14 acre farm. My plans are to get the 90X350 garden soil amended ( it's been neglected for at least 8 years). I have 6 large dump truck loads of mulch about 2 weeks through the composting process and looking forward to at least that much more. I purchased a used 30x100 hoop style green house that has yet to be erected but looking to get that done in January. I love growing things and can't wait for spring!

Everything has a beginning
This is my beginning, well not the very beginning, but pretty close to revitalizing my old family farm of 14 acres. I'm now retired and ready to change hats and work by investing in my family's future. My 90'x350' garden is my starting point. The soil is mostly red clay and for the most part is dead. I hope to change that soon with the addition of 8 dump truck loads of fresh compost cooked down over this winter. So far, it's looking promising.
