The first ONCE product from 37signals
You've probably already heard me talking about this, but the first ONCE product from 37signal is available now, it's called Campfire. The idea is that instead of paying for Slack forever, you pay for this once, I really hope more of these types of products take off. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GAzRUbE1AAw

@David Finnegan I think SpaceX/Tesla use mattermost it's been around for a while I started checking it out when I saw IEEE used it, which has about .5 million members and is a buncha computer nerds.
InVision is Shutting Down
After selling their Freehand tool to Miro in November last year, InVision have just announced they'll be shutting down at the end of 2024. It's kind of crazy to see how quickly the rise and fall of a company like this can happen. They had a valuable of over $2billion just a few years ago, I remember when you basically couldn't move in the design world without seeing InVision everywhere. It's not surprising, Figma basically took all the utility away from InVision - and even Sketch has it's own prototyping too these days (but who still uses Sketch anyway?) Still, I think InVision played a big role in modernising design collaboration, so it's kind of a shame we won't see anything else from then again. If you wanna read a bit more, you can check out the announcement from the CEO

Wow! InVision was everywhere. After learning Sketch I found Lunacy which is a free windows version. Then more recently seeing things like AppyPie and softr.io and FlutterFlow
What do you do in your downtime?
It's the holiday season, so things are probably starting to quiet down for most of us, so thought it'd be interesting to hear what you all like to do in your down time? I'm pretty terrible for taking downtime, but when I do my go-to activity is gaming, though these days I stick to single player games I can clock in around 40 hours, I find it way too easy to get sucked games and sink 100s of hours otherwise. And when I want to get away from the shiny rectangles for a while, I like to do a bit of woodworking or DIY, or building mechanical keyboards. As for my plans over the holidays, I'll be firing up the PS5 and digging into Spider Man 2. What about you?

@Eugenia T @David Finnegan thanks!! I find enough dopamine looking at advertising for products online like appSumo and watching videos whether courses, walkthroughs, or youtube lol. my phone is an off-hue to reduce dopamine from that too.

I like the Logitech keyboard! quiet keys and I find if I need shortcuts most programs are amenable to the "control/shift/alt + {x}" for design though (especially 3D CAD), I have definitely appreciated some more advanced i/o!

@David Finnegan agreed !! I've got the keyboard that pairs with it and even bought MX masters for family gifts hahah
