Tips on Spline cage for this Van Quater panel
I created my own RC body last year based on a Toyota FJ40 (see attached), and been following along the new Car Modelling course. I'm not good at it, but I can get it done eventually. I'm really trying to learn how to do it properly. The issue I'm having is how to spline cage the front fender of this Van. It's got a few compound & blended curves in it and is deceptively complex. Nik teaches us to focus on the large panels first and I'm conflicted as to which body lines should be splined. I've got Yellow and Red lines in the attached image. Given the reference image how would you guys arrange the splines?

@Nick Fox You inspired me a bit, I think I might have this one. I used a fillet based on the outline linked above, following Nik's principles of putting splines where the theoretical surfaces converge without the smoothing/fillets. Then I created a fillet like you had in your file (not images). Then I extended the body line inverted curve spline through the sheet, imprinted it, cut out the extra, and blended it with some bridge curves, before patching the rest shut with G1. It's still missing the chamfered edge, but it's probably 80% of the way there now. Woohoo!

Yep, I think you pretty much solved it. That image you added above actually has an important detail that shows the curvature of the top of the hood blending into that chamfer on the corner. Thanks for the tips and help, this is great!
