5 Million Impressions Later: Let's Talk Email Signatures and Work-Life Balance
Last week, I posted about this idea of adding an email signature that essentially said that you do not need to respond if received outside of regular working hours. This idea went viral, no joke - almost 5 million impressions and counting. However, there was a lot of input that this approach is not a good one, and perhaps "schedule send" or "delay delivery" of email is a more appropriate approach. What do you think?

I have a "wellbeing" disclaimer on the bottom of my emails, but I also use the schedule send function, as I work better in the evening times when my team and other colleagues should be logged off. I don't expect anyone to read their emails or respond out of hours.
You can be manipulated and 'that is embarrassing'.
Take a look at this video, it will blow your mind. https://www.instagram.com/reel/C-5YD3nOwXh/?igsh=MWN4eGVrYjF5OTY5Mw== What do you think? How might this affect you at work? Comment below.

@Mike de Graaff I like your take on that. I've recently starting reading a book called "Invisible Women" - it's about systematic data bias in the world and how it's impacted on things such as car safety, drug testing etc. As men were used as the test subjects, and the data from those tests applied to women, it's another extreme example of an unique lense on what is happening in the world.
Multi-tasking (Good or Bad?)
Some people claim to be very good at multi-tasking, and I wonder what your thoughts are on the topic. Is multi-tasking good or bad? Vote and comment below.

It's definitely difficult to do anything well if you're constantly trying to do multiple things at once, anything that requires concentration and remembering it is better as a single focus task. But I'm guilty of always doing 17 things at once at times.
IMPORTANT: Opportunity to Participate in an Academic Study
Team, I've been an educator and business leader for over twenty years, but one thing you may not know is that I also conduct original academic research. https://survey.ucalgary.ca/jfe/form/SV_3ldx0o8dcMZdCJ0 I am studying employee-manager dynamics and the impact of 1:1 meetings on relationship quality. If you are so inclined, I would appreciate it if you could complete the survey below in 5-10 minutes. The survey is confidential and anonymous. Feel free to comment "done" if you participated. PS. I will launch access to this across all my channels in the coming days. PPS. If you notice anything strange within the survey, please DM so I can correct it. https://survey.ucalgary.ca/jfe/form/SV_3ldx0o8dcMZdCJ0

Happy Birthday!
Pro Tip: One way to move up the ladder at work and get promoted is to remember birthdays. I know, it sounds silly but listen. By the taking the time to remember, or even put in your calendar, your boss and your team birthday’s, you show that you care. Birthdays may not be important to you, but it is for others. Extra Pro Tip - wish them happy birthday before their birthday. Send them a note or mention personally that you know their birthday is coming up and you want to wish them the best. There are so many others reasons to do this, but selfishly it will help you get promoted. People who are liked get promoted. If you are a high performer, and well liked, you have the winning combination. PS. My birthday is this month, that’s what inspired this post. Question. What month is your birthday? Comment below.
