Advice
I am currently in England entering Year 13 (my A level year) studying English Literature, Religious studies and Law. I achieved mediocre GCSE grades due to mitigating circumstances but I intend to achieve the highest grades I can in my A levels. I also am aiming to go to UCL to do LLB and further on, Corporate Law, and was wondering if it is achievable with mediocre GCSE’s and if there’s any advice anyone could give! Thanks for your time guys.

Hey Fahd, It's absolutely achievable with "mediocre" GCSE grades! I myself experienced academic drawback due to mitigating circumstances, but it's important that you keep aiming forward and applying yourself as best you can. It's great to see you thinking further ahead! If I were to offer some additional advice I'd suggest searching for some legal scholarship programmes, as they should be available to Year 13 students. Not only would this be helpful financially, but also career-wise as a lot of these programmes offer mentorships to students from legal professionals through the duration of their time in higher education! I've had a legal mentor for a year now and she's been great in terms of providing insights into what firms are looking for, how to conduct yourself in interviews, etc.
Introduction
Hi all! I'm Ricky, a final year law student at Queen Mary University. I'm interested in commercial law and completed a vacation scheme with Hogan Lovells! I enjoyed the legal mechanics, however, I did not convert the VS into a TC offer. My current struggle is writing applications that truly show my interest in the firm. Glad to meet you all!

Congratulations on landing a vacation scheme! Hogan Lovells is an incredible firm so you're doing great!
Introduction!
Hey everyone, My name is Omkar and I'm entering my second year of LLB Law at SOAS University of London! I have successfully completed work placements at Irwin Mitchell and Crowell and Moring and, from my experiences, I have developed an interest in a number of corporate law practices (namely IP and Competition Law). I am the Head Secretary of the SOAS Arabic Society, as well as an Outreach Ambassador and an upReach Rise Associate. This coming academic year, I am determined to successfully enter and complete a vacation scheme. I currently struggle with writing successful applications that highlight both my interest in a scheme, as well as my desire for any specific firm. I believe I'm better at face-to-face interaction, but I would still greatly appreciate any interview advice as well. I'm excited to continue my legal journey with you all, so feel free to connect with me on LinkedIn! https://www.linkedin.com/in/omkar-anjarlekar-5146ab204/
