CSA ratios to AUM in Servicing Clients
Does anyone know the ratio of AUM to CSA? Prior to our CSA who left she was servicing $75,139,717.65. She felt overwhelmed. I was servicing $599,877,556.77 while also being on the management. Broker Dealer Ratio is 2.0MM in revenue to FA/CSA. Thank you.

I don't believe AUM is the best measure for CSA capacity. Number of clients, types of clients, service model and number of advisors has always been more determinate in my experience. I have found that as the type of client varies efficiency suffers and with it productivity. Same thing with advisors, if they operate differently it will create challenges for the service team. As the CSA's complexity increases the importance of organization, prioritization and time management skills also increases. Clearly defined service levels/offering, training and process discipline are key.
