Falling In Love With The Grind
Falling in love with the grind is the key to unlocking your full potential as an ultimate frisbee player. By embracing solo practice sessions, prioritizing early nights for recovery, seeking out the toughest matchups, and welcoming constructive feedback, you're cultivating a growth mindset that sees challenges as opportunities for improvement rather than threats. When you shift your focus from chasing external validation like trophies, titles, and awards to obsessing over the process of becoming better every day, you tap into a deeper, more sustainable source of motivation. This aligns with Carol Dweck's research on growth mindset, which shows that believing in your ability to develop skills through effort and practice leads to greater resilience and achievement. By consistently putting in the work and embracing the journey of improvement, you're not just rewiring your brain, you're finding joy and fulfillment in the process itself . This neuroplasticity, as emphasized by Joe Dispenza, allows you to create new neural pathways that reinforce positive habits and mindsets, filling your journey with positivity and motivation. The result of this mindset shift is multifaceted: 1. Increased happiness: Finding joy in the daily grind rather than pinning your happiness on distant goals. 2. Accelerated growth: Continuous focus on improvement leads to compounding skill development. 3. Unexpected opportunities Consistent effort often opens doors you didn't even know existed. You don't have to get ready, you stayed ready. Remember, success in ultimate frisbee, as in life, rewards consistency over time. By obsessing over the process and maintaining an unwavering commitment to your craft, you're not just improving as a player but transforming your entire approach to challenges and growth. This mindset isn't just about sports performance; it's a philosophy that can elevate every aspect of your life, leading to greater fulfillment, resilience, and success both on and off the ultimate frisbee field.

Something I thought about is instead of 1% better today than yesterday is how can I be better than I am tomorrow? This makes me think of the next thing that I could grow from today and adapt to try and beat today. I haven’t incorporated it yet cause it just appeared when I was journaling this morning but I think it’d help with a lot of things.

@Antoine Davis I didn’t incorporate it that day because I hadn’t seen the opportunity to really let it grow. I had utilized it but I felt nothing was important to note. I did the extra action for studying but I felt that the first step is to be better than yesterday then to think about how can you be better than the future.
