I have the same sort of question about breaking fast. I currently add C8 MCT oil to my morning coffee each morning to encourage my liver to release some ketones. While MCT contains a fair amount of fat, it does not contain any carbs. Does this break my fast? I don't intend to break my fast until much later in the day (say between 1 and 4pm) and test my ketones and Glucose just before "breaking fast". I haven't been very successful achieving ketosis with ketones hovering around 0.3-0.5 most days with an occasional spike to 0.7 or 0.9. Its been very frustrating
