Help students love music, gain confidence.

@Sys Savanh , thanks for asking. :-) I spend a concerted level of time researching music online and arranging songs for my students that they WANT to learn---piano has to be fun and engaging or who would want to stick with it? I also introduce students to a wide variety of musical styles from classical to pop and beyond to broaden their horizons and find what they love. The sky's the limit! I'm patient, nurturing and supportive with my students. They know my studio is a safe place they can come to for lessons. I play games/activities which I've created with my students to make learning to play the piano fun and engaging. Games reinforce music theory concepts. In a student's eyes, it's not work if it's fun!! I talk about why I love music and share personal stories about my musical journey with my students igniting excitement in them to learn music that stretches and helps them reach new heights. I help students set realistic goals they can work towards and achieve, and acknowledge their accomplishments, no matter how small. I offer praise and encouragement regularly, highlighting each students' progress and achievements. I stay in close contact and communication with ALL parents on a weekly basis to share their children's progress and successes. I encourage and provide opportunities for students to perform in front of others which helps them gain confidence. These are the ways I help my students love music and gain confidence.
