Better Hiker
If you are looking to improve your hiking game, but are struggling with how to prepare, come hang out in my community. I am a bad hiker. I am too old, too fat, too girly, too clumsy, and too easily lost. I learn everything the hard way: by making mistakes. I have been lost in the woods, have fallen into a creek, and have made the sins of burning my garbage, peeing in inappropriate spots, smoking cigarettes while on the trail, and (the biggest sin of all) always carrying a hiking chair. Despite my bad hiker tendencies, I successfully completed two thru-hikes of the Superior Hiking Trail the last two summers. I am an avid camper and hiker obsessed with training, planning, food and gear. My focus is always on the smiles, not the miles. If you want to get out on the trail, hike all day, and enjoy it, I am here to teach you how to plan a thru-hike, how to train so that you may enjoy your time out on the trail, how to tackle the mental game, how to plan meals and organize resupplies, gear reviews, and all the little details to make your trek a success. Come join me where we can grow together, become better hikers, and learn from each other’s mistakes and experiences.
