ChatLLM Teams $10/mo vs. ChatGPT Pro $20/mo
So I found this on abacus: https://chatllm.abacus.ai/ Apparently you can get access to GPT-4o, Llama-3, Claude, Gemini 1.5 Pro, etc. for only $10/month instead of paying $20/month for just ChatGPT pro. Looks like a no-brainer of a deal to me, and wanted to share with y'all! The only question I have is whether Abacus includes code interpreter, but their website mentions a lot of features that seem helpful to coders. So I'll give this a try.

Sounds great I'll have to check it out! I wonder if there's a way I can connect it to company data without breaking any policies? We use snowflake and it wound be great to connect an LLM to do some data discovery.
I Landed My First Data Analyst Job!
I am thrilled to announce that I have just started my first job as a Data Analyst this week. For the past six years, I have been honing my data skills in my role as a Product Manager. During this time, I developed a deep passion for data analysis, recognizing its power to drive decision-making and uncover valuable insights. Despite the demands of my previous role, I made it a priority to build and refine my data skills, learning everything I could about data analytics. About a year ago, I officially set my goal to transition into a data analyst role. The journey was far from easy, and there were several unexpected delays along the way. However, each challenge only strengthened my resolve and determination. I continued to learn, practice, and apply data analysis techniques, staying focused on my ultimate goal. Now, I am excited to bring my skills and enthusiasm to my new position. I look forward to not only contributing to my team but also continuing to learn and grow in this dynamic field. One of the aspects I am particularly excited about is the opportunity to implement AI and machine learning in my new role. These technologies have the potential to revolutionize the way we analyze and interpret data and processes, and I can't wait to explore their applications further. I am eager to embark on this new chapter and contribute to this community and stay tuned for more updates as I dive deeper into the world of data! Cheers to new beginnings and endless possibilities!

@Lou Gallo thanks Lou! I need to check what our Microsoft enterprise license currently allows but I have confirmed that there is a copilot assistant in Snowflake that we have access to. It will help me a lot with cleaning up and optimizing SQL queries and data discovery.

@Nabeel Keblawi Thank you! I am sure you will find your right fit! After having the core set of skills, from there it's more about getting connected to the right people/networks. Have you tried reaching out to recruiters or colleagues that work at a company you'd want to work for?
Free Python Resources
Does anyone know of a free website that I can practice python on a regular basis? With an emphasis on solving quick data analysis problems?

Degree vs self-taught
Just a simple question for those who are working in data science and ML: Is the degree worth it? I've been talking with many people, and the conclusion that I draw from the convos is that if you are not required to have a degree, university is useless. You can learn pretty much everything you'll need working in the field for 1-2 years. And everything you'll need is on the internet. You just need to have enough self discipline to stick to it. Am I right? Am I wrong? Please share your thoughts in the comments.

Hi Everyone, I'm an aspiring data analyst currently working as an associate product manager at a large company. I have a degree in mechanicaI engineering. I found that what I dread about Product management is the long meetings, updating documentation! Ugh! But I enjoy the data analysis aspects! Give me a question and some excel sheets and I'm all over it! Using visualization tools like PowerBI as well. I want to spend more of my time doing analysis-style work day to day so it makes sense for me to transition to a full-time data analyst role. hope to get my first job as one in the next year after I build up my skills. Looking forward to interacting with you all!
