Getting started
I've been doing some background reading (and listening to Tyler's podcast episodes) to brush up on the basics. I've opened an Interactive Brokers account and am looking forward to getting started with learning the simulator and trading workspace. I'm a little torn because it looks like Tradovate might have some very user-/learner-friendly features (and is recommended by imantrading) but is only for Futures. Since I haven't settled on any particular instrument(s), going with IB seems like the best option for now. Looking forward to learning with Tyler and this group.

absolutely, and many are complaining about the UX (or lack thereof) at IB, so it def isn't just you @Kathleen Askland. As I just wrote over in another post, for me it's mostly a matter of getting used to, and as I like the vast range of features and markets I'm okay with making do with it.
IBKR learning curve
Is it just me? How is IBKR experience for you so far? I have to admit I am struggling with the IBKR platform. I just find it very difficult to absorb or process the information in the format that's used, or smoothly conduct a paper trade without having to click in and out of windows. Maybe its just my neurospicy brain, but does anyone else experience this? Im trying to determine if its worth it to perhaps pay a little more for a smoother, more user friendly platform designed for options; or should I suck it up and buckle down til I can really get it on IBKR? it seems like the general consensus is that they are the best, so I feel like maybe I'm missing something? Ive sorta been looking for standalone tools for charting and visualizing p/l curve on options, which i think would make it alot easier, but there's so much out there's, it's hard to filter. Any advice from anyone who has hit this wall?

even though it's not very user friendly, I like the vast range of features of it, so, for me, it mostly comes down to getting used to it @Adriel Robidoux, but I totally hear you...
Aloha
Aloha everyone, i’ve always been so interested in learning and operating within the market… unfortunately equally as i intimidated by it. I hope to gain knowledge & confidence in order to grow here.

No need to be intimidated @Chasten Cortez, especially when you're well-prepared which the chances are high of with everything you'll find in this group and on Tyler's YT channel. So let the being-interested take the upper hand, and good luck with everything!

Hi @Enrique Trejo -- way to go for finding a good alternative that is fun as well! Good luck with everything on your journey!
New mom, new day trader!
Hello everyone, my name is Geeta and as you can probably tell from the title of this post, I'm a new mom (5 months) and new to trading. Day trading is something my husband brought up to me several times (maybe more than I want to admit) and I always brushed it off until he finally wore me down. Yes, a win for team husband. I have zero experience in the world of trading and started listening to Tyler's podcast while making notes last month and I'm hooked. Team husband 2, wife... well I'll say this is a win for me too. Being a stay at home mom, I'm feeling empowered to take control of my own financial future and I'd like to empower more women to enter the world of day trading. Ladies, let's get it! I look forward to discussing more with all of my fellow members!

Hi @Geeta Mangru, it's nice to meet you, and welcome to the world of trading! Tyler's content is the best that can happen to you to get you, as you said, from zero to understanding more and more all the time, and being hooked even more. Congrats on the new baby, and I believe the time-flexibility will be a good match from that point of view as well. Good luck with everything!
