I've heard this concept from Myron Golden before... But the way Josh presented it yesterday hit differently. For most of my life and career, I've been an Implementer. And because I worked hard and did a good job, I moved into the Unification level a few years ago. Now I'm on the path to becoming a coach, and sometimes... I have shiny object syndrome. I see opportunities everywhere and it catches my attention. For example, at Funnel Hacking Live I saw Russell's offer to become a Certified Funnel Builder. And I was like "hmm... I'm on a different path now BUT I'm good at implementation, and I can lead... so maybe I should stop trying to shift my identity AGAIN and go back to things I know I'm good at. Should I start an agency instead?" By the way, starting an agency is something that I've rejected up to this point... but Russell has a way of saying things that just get to you π Josh completely put that thought out of my head yesterday. I'm reaching for the next level. I'm on the way. It's all hard. But why on earth would I go back down to a lower path simply because I know what the view looks like? So if you ever second guess yourself (like I do)... Think about whether the actions you're taking now or if the decision you're trying to make will actually move you forward... or if you're really looking at going back down the mountain.
