New Release of App
Hi! I've released a second version of my free app for live sound engineers. It calculates the speed of sound and the time delay using temperature, humidity and pressure. https://apps.apple.com/us/app/speedair-speed-of-sound/id6480329550?platform=iphone This time, I decided to make it more international and improve the plain screenshots. I added US units (feet and °F) and French and German translations. I also used automatic number formatting. I also wanted simple in-app purchases. Just an optional tip jar to get used to the App Store configuration. I'm not expecting much, but it works! In-App Purchases - StoreKit2: Simple StoreView and TransactionObserver class - Products: Small, medium and Large tip Localisation - Language: String Catalog for German and French - Units: Locale Metric or US - Number Formatting: Decimal point vs comma Translation - ChatGPT: Asked for translations in an app context. E.g. 'Done', 'Close'. Screenshots - Used appscreens.com free version (allows 1 project) - Video (Not working) - Used iMovie to convert simulator mp4 to the correct resolution - Did not process in Connect correctly. Said audio corrupted but there was no audio. - I will try again

@Michael Hodges Thanks! I know RevenueCat is the standard but I think I will look into Superwall. Seems really promising. Have you had a look?
Finished my App Redesign
So happy that I finally managed to complete my app redesign and learned a lot along the way. ✅ Start with the design and than write the code ✅ Get and UI/UX designer if you lack design skills ✅ Don’t leave buggy code to fix for later ✅ Don’t cut corners to often, lol I’m in the handy of the app reviewers now 😶 Here are some photos of how the app looks now. What do you think?

Well done updating your screenshots. Looks really good. May I suggest SF symbols lightbulb.max for your suggestions icon.

I think you may need to look at your borders on your screenshots on the app store. I think you can lose the thin line. It’s being clipped. The dark one also shows a white edge.
Purchase Manager
Since some of you asked, I share with you my PurchaseManager to handle StoreKit transactions. All using async / await ;) Code: https://gist.github.com/lienmt/1f1c0d399e57a1c0eb636a60f7887e05

Learning Swift
Hey everyone, I am learning Swift on the Hacking with Swift site with its 100 Days series, and reached around day 50, currently doing the “Navigation” project. Although i have definitely learned alot of things, im not entirely sure that this is the most suitable way, for me at least, to learn; and im starting to burn out. For those you haven’t tried this specific resource, each project is focused on a specific aspect of SwiftUi while introducing new concepts and personally i feel like im forgetting whats been taught in previous sections; Perhaps is all part of the process :) but wanted to ask you if there are other sources you’re using to learn Swift, which maybe offer a different teaching style. Have a good day ! EDIT: started watching Sean Allen beginner course on youtube and oh man, things starting to click ✨

Definitely start your own app and learn what you need. I think you will be more motivated seeing your own app grow.
UIKit vs. SwiftUI: Is Learning UIKit Still Worth It for iOS Development?
As SwiftUI continues to gain popularity, many developers are questioning whether learning UIKit is still relevant. This discussion explores the advantages and limitations of both frameworks, comparing their use cases, performance, and future potential in iOS development. Should developers invest time in mastering UIKit, or focus entirely on SwiftUI?

SwiftUI for new apps. Better future with Observable and SwiftData.
