Workflow Wizardry Speedrun: Finish A Track In 10 Days
Heyo! SUPER excited to announce that tomorrow (Friday August 9th) will be the official start of the 10-day track finishing challenge. LETS DO IT 🎡πŸ”₯ The #1 goal of this challenge is to help as many of you as possible finish an awesome-sounding track in 10 days using the Workflow Wizardry System. If you don't know what it is watch this free masterclass. If you don't have the template yet download it here. If you want a head start on understanding how the system works check out these trainings. I'll be hosting living calls in the community every day with instructions on what to do for each day of the challenge and to answer any questions you may have. I'll also be active in the community every day if you run into problems or want some feedback on your composition/mix. The first call will be at 7 pm CST on Friday, August 9th. Every call will be recorded if you can't make it live. In service to that, I want to offer a prize for anyone who completes the challenge. To qualify you have to: - Finish a track - Implement the actions for every "day" - Show your proof of work by sharing your Workflow Wizardry Notion template with me Anyone who completes the challenge will get a free 45-minute 1-1 coaching session with me. We can talk about anything you'd like, workshop your music, or even map out a custom plan to hit your music goals. Here's the breakdown of what we'll be covering over the next ten days: Day 0 - Kickoff + Establishing Vision Day 1 - Calibrate Day 2 - Flow Day 3 - Extract Day 4 - Compose I Day 5 - Compose II Day 6 - Edit Day 7 - Edit II Day 8 - Mix Day 9 - Mix II Day 10 - Master

I am on vacation this week but I wake up earlier than my gf and would be curious to try and test my ability to do this on the go, how often do we share the notion template? Is it at the end or every day
Hi ya
Where are you from? I have spent most of my life in the Denver, Colorado area but now live in Jacksonville, Florida. What are you working on? I am currently working on recording and producing a new album in my home studio using Ableton. This project is a personal hobby and is for fun. On the professional side, I work as a software developer specializing in building scalable web applications and APIs. Biggest strength? My biggest strength is my software skills, which make me a good match for running Ableton. I find Ableton to be every bit as sophisticated as any software product I have ever used, and I love it. Biggest weakness? My biggest weakness is that I tend to bite off more than I can chew. Recently, I bought three new guitars, the full version of Ableton, studio monitors, an IO extension, and a Push 3. I want to learn and do it all now, which can be overwhelming. What do you do? I am a software developer who specializes in building scalable web applications and APIs. In my free time, I enjoy playing the guitar and recording music in my home studio. What's your goal inside this community? My goal is to create a synergy with everyone so that we can get the most out of our recording gear. What triggered you to sign up? I signed up after watching several of Alex's YouTube posts. The man knows how to use Push.

I have a very similar story to you, also a software engineer and went in deep with the gear and software stuff because it comes easy to me. I find the software is helping me make sense out of music theory, sound design etc because seeing how the software executes something helps me understand what it means. Great to have you here! I would recommend trying Bome's midi translator, you can do some really cool stuff with your gear by writing what amounts to assembly code

Feedback on some basic sound design
Hi guys would anybody be able to give some feedback on a sound design project? I have been using existing midi tracks to practice sound design and would like to know if this sounds legit or if I am still just turning knobs

Music Theory Workshop Follow-Up
Hello again, MMM folks! Thanks so much once again to those of you who were able to attend the first "Effortless Composition" workshop, and Alex/Meta Mind Music for hosting! It was so much fun to share the some applications of the Music Theory Tree system with you, answer your questions, and I hope to do it again soon! We've only scratched the surface. We got some great suggestions for future topics during the Q & A portion, and Alex and I are thinking we will set another MTT workshop to be held in August. If you were not able to make the first workshop, the second one will still be made accessible for those with all levels of music theory knowledge. I'd love to hear more of your feedback about the workshop. What did you find helpful? What would you like to see/hear more of? What was not touched on that you would appreciate some time in a workshop dedicated to exploring? Are there any points you'd like clarification on? If you haven't already, please get your FREE MTT Music Theory Exercises from Musictheorytree.com/free-download. I will be using examples of these exercises to explore numerous musical ideas in future content like videos and articles, primarily centered around composition/analysis/and performance. The overarching goal of MTT is to help people learn every note in every chord, in every key, how they connect, and, most importantly, how they can be used in compositions effectively. If you're a visual learner especially, I highly recommend getting the exercises and reaching out to me for help if you feel the need. By the way, unfortunately, the first workshop recording got corrupted somehow, so we don't have it to share with you, but we'll do our best to ensure that doesn't happen in the future. Be well, everyone! I can't wait to see and speak with you again!

It was a super fun workshop, it would maybe be cool to see you use the trees to make a song or to fix a song that sounds off. What really helps me at this stage(Almost no instrument experience) is knowing how to translate the theory to making a good song.
Push "tabs"
Hey guys I have an idea for a coding project that I am considering doing and I am curious if anyone thinks this would be useful. Basically what I want to do is write a program that converts MIDI to push 3 "tabs" that will look similar to guitar tabs(In the format with the grand staff above the tab) but instead of guitar frets the vertical lines would represent rows on the push and the number would represent the column. There would also be symbols for octave shifts up and down and would indicate the scale and whether to use in-key or chromatic. The program would "reject" songs that require playing simultaneous notes on multiple push pages but i don't think this would be a common occurrence in real music. I think this would make it much easier to learn the push layout and would make it easy to figure out if a song could be played on the push realistically since you would have a visual representation of the notes and be able to more intuitively figure out how to play a chord with multiple hands for example(This is something strange about push playing I think). It would also allow following along with a lesson book like Alfreds(or even guitar books) with the push instead of the piano(If you can get the pieces in MIDI format). I got some inspiration from this article https://www.chrisperren.com/blog/2020/12/02/a-notation-system-for-ableton-push though the writer seems to call for something that covers every push functionality but I think that is a little excessive. I still don't know if I actually have the time for this but would anybody be interested in using this?
