Breaking up with my parents on religion
Ever since I entered my 20s, especially in college and during Covid, my views on many core ideals I shared with my parents have changed. I have had more arguments with them in the last 7 years of my life than in the first 20. I don't want to stay stagnant ideologically, I want to be able to grow and transform my ideals. However, this would mean that I end up breaking up with my family ideologically, especially on the topic of religion. What am I supposed to do if I just don't think religion is true? Do I just lie to my future children/nephews and nieces about my views? I don't want to manipulate anyone's perception of myself for my own gain. I cannot fathom the thought of my immediate family looking at me as someone who doesn't get his morals from religion, because that's what all religious children in my view, are taught. They are taught that to have morals, you need religion. I'm not saying religion is bad, but there are some aspects of religion I have never agreed with ever since I was a kid. I was just too scared to say anything, for fear of questioning my parents' authority and defying them. How do I navigate this? All is well and good now, but when the stakes are high, will the glue hold? My parents don't seem to be very accommodating of my views on religion and God. They allow me to ask questions, but in so far as they see me returning to religion. I feel a bit gaslighted.

@Darren Chee the more you share the more I notice this has NOTHING to do with religion. It has everything to do with you not getting out in the world and conquering. Might be time to consider moving out. There’s no reason to live at home if you’re not able to make the necessary moves that would make you fulfilled. Networking Like-minded roommates Dating Making money Exploring your spirituality Have you considered moving?

@Darren Chee then this is your focus this season. You need a project. A goal BIGGER than your current ones. By the end of the year become gainfully employed making $2500 a month. Or Celebrate New Years in your own place. Right now you have a lot of time on your hands so it’s got you in your head. Thinking about negative extremes. Refuting god. Cutting off your family. It’s not as dark as that. Work will help you find the harmony and peace you want.

Don’t post it but it’s Story-worthy. Ideally the day of though. I would definitely crop it too. Other than that have people take photos in the moment. Before they snap a shot, in your mind think of the story that picture will tell. Focus on that energy and be in the moment with it. Right now this photo tells no story. No flattering or impressive story. But you in motion on the dance floor says 1000 things about you being a smart, strong, powerful man.

@Phil Dave wait for the night. Make stories with vids and pics around the same time they actually happened. You have a lot of leeway The story feature. It’s more important in my experience.
Social Proof and pre selection
If being surrounded by hot women shows pre selection and makes you appear more attractive. Let me pose a hypothetical, if a man accompanied by a less attractive woman (not mid) overweight, loud, obnoxious etc. . Does that hurt him more than going out alone? Thoughts?

There is no age limit for college. The real question is in 2024 why bother with college?

@Tyler Daniel what options do degreed kids have that non-degree holders don’t have? I’m hard-pressed to think of any, outside of medicine, and even that’s changing.
Women
A lot of podcasts I’ve listened to with Justin Waller and others they talk about having one main chick, a couple others they have kids with, then sleeping with whoever they want. How many of you disagree with this logic or agree. I for one believe that any man would want this type of lifestyle.

Seems solid and ordinary. A lot of men live this way, but they ie about it. Few of us get to do it with transparency. I find it easier than lying, but it takes a lot of unlearning, and relearning effective habits to manage.
