What are your goals for this week?
Setting goals for writing music is important. Personally, I set a goal to write a song every week. I have done that 45 times over this year, so far. I have done this by setting aside at least an hour for writing music. If I can do that, I know that I'm going to, at the very least, get something written. Will it be perfect? Probably not. Will it be something that I created, something that I made? Absolutely. Will it drive me to create more? I'm sure it will. If you're working to write more music, the best way to get started is to do it. That sounds super simple, but it's more than true. If you think you don't have the skill, you probably do! The important part is allowing yourself to write, experiment, and have some fun. What are your goals for this week in your music?

I haven't set any specific goals for this week as I'm kinda in an experimental/exploring phase. But one thing I'm doing is diving back into a project I have put many hours into already to further explore its possibilities! (I know, not exactly a one-song-per-week project lol)
Allow yourself to write music!
I'm happy to say that I've written 44 songs this year! I will be finishing this year with 52 new songs in my catalog. It's important to note that you do not HAVE to write a song every week to be a part of this course. But, if you've been struggling with writing and releasing music, I cannot stress enough that you should ALLOW yourself to write music. A lot of us spend entirely too much time telling ourselves we don't deserve something unless we meet other markers in our everyday; we can't play video games if we didn't work enough. We can't have pizza if we didn't run two miles. The list goes on. It's great to set goals for yourself, and these can help to motivate you. But, it's also important to tell yourself, "I'm allowed to sit down and spend some time making music. I doesn't have to be music that makes money. It doesn't have to have pop appeal. I'm making music because I LOVE it". When you allow yourself to make music, you care for yourself, and you'll care for others in your life even more. Your homework; give yourself 15 minutes to sit down and, even if you don't play an instrument, or create a new song, simply think about what you'd like to write, or focus on an idea you had, an inspiration, anything, that you can spend some time envisioning. I can almost certainly guarantee that if you do this, you'll find that the next time you sit down, you'll be able to write a song, or even a piece of a song, that turns into something, then something else, and iterates infinitely, if you allow it to. Tell me what you make happen in the comments!

I'm fairly new to music production but lately I'm spending a lot of time experimenting with remixing some of my favourite songs! It's helping me figure out the general vibe I wanna go for
Why you need earplugs
When you're choosing earplugs, you want decibel reduction and attenuation of the signal. Simply blocking sound out is fine, but you're gonna be more likely to pull your earplugs out of your ears because you cannot hear everything. If you utilize plugs that attenuate the decibel level, you'll be more likely to keep wearing them. This is true for live music concerts and if you're playing in a studio or other situation with a band. Please protect your ears. If you damage them, you cannot repair that damage. Your ears are very, very important. If you're looking for good earplugs, I suggest Eargasm or Earasers. Both will offer what I speak of, here. https://www.earasers.net/products/earasers?srsltid=AfmBOooQt5j9RPWPnIBR2oL_yEAHio23203HAUp75Cs0uAxLPeEb_sSd Https://www.eargasm.com

This is super important! Especially finding one's that let sound into your ears more clearly but without the volume. I often use Loops for live shows as an audience member, and IEMs with triple flange ear tips for performances. Etymotic's Music Pro's are awesome too and worth the investment IMO for loud rehearsals that don't require click tracks
