Farewell
Hello everyone, it is with bitter-sweet emotion that I make this announcement… I’m currently in the transition of leaving ContraBrand/Brandman Network as an opportunity came my way that I couldn’t pass up. Working with the agency and you all over the last few years has been an amazing experience. I’m so grateful to have helped build this community, and truly you’ve all challenged me and helped me grow tremendously. I will still be working in music so if you would like to stay in touch you can find me on Instagram (@saucewithjoce). I’ll continue to post music marketing content there! 😌 I will be doing my last live-call tomorrow at 11am PST/2pm EST so hop in for one last saucy Q&A. Thank you all for the great moments! Can’t wait to see this community continue to grow.

Congratulations!🤩
Changing Distribution
My last release was completely screwed up by Distrokid so I’ve changed to Tunecore. I have a few considerations that I need some help with. I don’t have a very big catalog I have 18 songs. I’d say that about a third of these songs are worthy to be promoted as singles and the rest can easily be placed on a best of compilation album. I’ve released my music in the form of EP’s and singles, but if I’m changing distribution I want to focus on the few singles that deserve more attention as singles and place the rest on a album. If I do this I believe I will be virtually starting over with streams. That sucks but I’m ok with starting over because I feel like I’ve gotten a better understanding of how to release music then from when I first started. Has anyone else changed distribution and or taken music down and uploaded it again in a different capacity?

Yes, I've noticed some things with DistroKid that is a turn off. I am going to replace my streaming with another distributor as well. Glad I found out with only 4 singles released. I've heard good things about TuneCore. DistroKid had charged my card multiple times incorrectly, they have flagged my youtube videos with copyright claims to my music, they have also not been good with customer care and communication when issues occur.
Artist Development
Thanks for the comments in advance! I need to pick your brain a bit! I recently had a Exec Producer offer to work with me, stating he would contribute by helping me in artist development and that he has connections to help me tour overseas. I am interested, but have a bit of concern. Seems to be a lot of talk with no action, if you will. Is it normal for a EP with a label to ask an indie artist with following (me) to "tag" their company in all post on social, and to send all inquiries for bookings of any sort to him without a contract or first delivering on some of the promises? He also has a talent management company, which my brand is ready for, but his talent doesn't have the presence I've established all on my own in the last year. I just don't know how to vet people like this. This is my 3rd exec who's proposed working with me after discovering me online.
