The Pizza Slice Method of plotting a novel
Iโ€™m currently working on the Pizza Slice Method of plotting a novel. In a nutshell, itโ€™s a simple and visual way to break a story into four manageable and engaging parts (four acts), much like slicing a pizza. Each โ€œsliceโ€ represents a mini-story or act within the overall narrative, with its own beginning, middle, and end. The Pizza Slice Method keeps a novel organized and ensures a natural flow of rising tension. Each slice builds on the one before it, creating a sense of momentum. Itโ€™s especially useful for new writers because: It simplifies a complex story into smaller, digestible parts. It ensures each act has its own mini-arc (beginning, middle, end), which keeps readers engaged throughout. It helps writers focus on building tension and making sure every part of the story matters. What do you think of the concept?

As the say - Those who can, do; those who can't, teach. Possibly there are more wannabees out there than actual doers! I worked on the Pizza Slice Method to construct a YA novella (12 to 13 year old) after my grandchildren asked me to write an adventure novel for them
Grateful thanks
Watched a lot of your videos, Jason, and have learned a lot. Now its back to skool to learn a lot more!

Mainly Mystery (four in different stages of completion), YA - 12 to 13 year olds - as my grandchildren asked me to write a book for them - and I've half-written a Western. I also have numerous short stories under my belt and really enjoy writing Flash Fiction. And you?
