Functional Strength Equipment from Ancient Chinese Martial Arts
Hi all, here are some equipments I am using for functional strength training. I find them helpful, as they target weak links in my arm strength hard #1. Wrist roller Grab a Wooden Dowel, tie a knot on it, and leave rope extended for weight to hang. Steps Roll up 1. straighten your arms slightly below shoulder level 2. Leave one hand open palm, but close to the handle. Roll the weight up 3. Rotate your hand to full range of motion, then switch to the other hand Roll down 1. Once the weight reaches the top, keep the handle flat, rotate downwards slowly 2. Make sure each hand is isolated when rolling downwards. (Left roll, right still. Vice Versa) I'm doing it with about 3kg total, but after a few ups and downs, you'll really feel the sore in your forearms

Weighted Jar: Find a jar with with a rim that fits your grip. Fill it with stones and weigh it. Recommended Starting Weight: 5kg or 10 pounds. This is very similar to a kettlebell, but without your palms as the source of strength, this focuses on your grip strength, and also targets shoulders if you try and lift it Recommend training: 1. Stationary hold: hold in in one hand, arms pointing towards the floor, keep it steady till you're about to fail. Put it down gently 2. Romaniwn Deadlift: Same as a normal RDL, but after reaching the top, keep holding it, then put it back down.

Hi, Everyone. My name is Jason. I was a middle school teacher for 3 years. Now I am on a journey to rebuild my health and find a new career path. I hope to learn from this community how to build functional strength and endurance for everyday use, and prioritise applicable training over aesthetic hypertrophy. Glad to be here. Shout out to Josh for reaching out to me
