Humility always shows up when you least expect it...
Today I was so excited to roll with my Saturday group and feel the 6 miles of exersion and unlock the joy! We had a total of 7 skaters meet up this morning and I was feeling all the community dopamine. I was fumbling around to get a energetic song on the speaker to get us going and I accidently left my waist pack open as I took off with enthusiasm...unfortunately my mini sunscreen fell out and tripped me and I hit my hand and my mouth on the pavement. I chipped my tooth and split my lip a bit and the side of my pinky was grazed. Minimal blood and a cosmetic fix for the tooth... Y'all it could have been so much worse! My beloved helmet doesn't protect my face. The win is this! The lesson! Don't get tripped up by your own bullshit. Be mindful in your joyseeking! I am so thankful for my community....my skatefam...I appeciated that no one freaked out and they all supported my need to get my roll on and talked me through my process. I am so thankful that I have a close friend who is a dentist who was able to look at it today. Skatejoy is precious and it sometimes comes with a pain toll. I have learned that I am a badass and I need to secure my gear! #skatersgonnaskate #level55
