Coaches Who Aren’t Native English Speakers—What’s Your Biggest Struggle?
I’m from Finland 🇫🇮, and like many of you, I didn’t grow up speaking English. I learned English in school, but now, here I am about to launch my free community in English, and even starting a YouTube channel soon (and yeah, it’s freaking scary, but I'm going to do it anyway). I’m curious… for all the online coaches who aren’t native English speakers, what’s your biggest struggle? 🤔 Is language a roadblock that’s stopping you from building the community you know you could if you were fluent? Or is it something else? 😅 I’ve been diving into this myself and found some awesome tools that make things way easier. You don’t have to be perfect, and you can still create fire content 🔥 Here are some hacks that help: • Struggling to film in English? You can literally read from a script and use AI video editing tools to make it look like you’re staring right into the camera, even if you’re not! 👀 • Got great content in your native language? AI can take that video and make it look like you’re speaking English. Trust me, it looks real enough when it's done right. I’m planning to create content around how non-native speakers can use AI tools to break through the language barrier. 💡 Would love to hear your thoughts: • What challenges do you face with creating content in English? • How have you dealt with it so far? Share your thoughts! P.S. If you’re wondering how to pronounce my name, just say “hell yeah!”, it’s close enough. Shoutout to @Marcin Hakemer-Fernandez for the genius pronunciation tip! 👏😂

@Juan Pablo Tellez Giron HeyGen is actually INCREDIBLE, and I can absolutely recommend it! I’ll start creating YouTube videos next month to really showcase the potential of this tool. I haven’t experimented with video translation on long-form content yet, but I’ve tested it with shorter videos. Here’s the result of a quick test where I translated a video of me speaking Finnish into English. This was just a quick test, so that’s why the original Finnish captions are still showing. What do you think of the result? 😄

@Chanin Zellner I hear you! 🤣 It’s definitely a challenge to keep up with everything. I have a paid community in Finnish about utilizing AI in business. No group in English just yet, but that’s on the horizon! By the way, how long have you been running your community? I’d love to hear how things are going with it!

@Chanin Zellner Thanks so much! 😊 Not too many Finnish people yet, but I’m seeing a slow, steady growth of early adopters. :) Congrats on your community! 🎉 That’s incredible, especially in just three weeks. Sounds like you’ve created a safe space for like-minded people to connect and support each other. Keep up the amazing work! 🙌💫 I’ve had my community for about a month now. It’s a paid one with 30 members and growing steadily as I build my reputation in the local market.
Morning Routine
I have listened to Sam talk about getting exercise done early before work begins. It's worked great for me these last few months. What are you doing? The journaling? The green juice? The cold plunge? The mediation? The sunlight in the eyes? The Sauna? The fasted cardio? The affirmations? The gratitude? The to-do list? All of the above?

@Luke Drayton That sounds like a solid routine! I definitely want to add some physical exercise, either jogging, body weight training, or at least a walk outside. And meditation has been on my mind too. I used to be confused about why so many people talk about meditation. It didn’t really click for me until I saw a video where Sam Ovens explained why he meditates. It's this one:

Update on EU Invoicing - getting there
Since I've been getting personal messages frequently, here's an update. *** EDIT: All I want to say is, that they are working on it. I'm not a tax advisor.*** I usually like to help and answer every single message, but for now I really can't explain everything in detail to everyone or over the phone. Please don't take it the wrong way. Not ignoring you, just trying to manage time wisely. Especially now that I've caught a flu 🤧. @Sam Ovens sent me the latest updates on Friday and asked for feedback, which I discussed with my tax advisor. I still had a few points of criticism, but soon we should be able to do something with these invoices and finally use the in-built payment system. Just to clarify further questions, this is about the invoices. How your contractual situation with customers is, is a different story. Especially these two main points were discussed: 📍Skool is the invoice issuer. Therefore, the company address and VAT ID (UST-ID) are now listed there. Your group name appears twice. Once as a product description and once as a logo with the note "via Skool." The VAT ID or tax ID of your customer is also listed there. VAT must be stated, even if it is zero, to make it clear whether Skool has paid VAT to the US tax office and thus you no longer have to, or if you still need to pay VAT here in Germany, e.g., due to reverse charge. 📍Since Skool is the invoice issuer, we need a credit note invoice. I was also shown a template for this. So things are moving, even if slowly.

@Marcin Hakemer-Fernandez I know, but it's still a problem. Let me clarify :) I know Skool is my only client, and I also know the only thing missing from my invoice is the reverse charge detail. My accountant complains about this, and personally, I believe the focus on these details varies between EU countries. In Finland, they're strict, and a VAT 0% marking isn't enough. When it comes to Skool being the MoR, I understand my members are technically Skool's clients. However, as the community founder, they contact me saying, "Hey, the invoice I got from Skool is missing details, and I can't add it as a business expense. Could you ask them to fix it?" When I tell them I can't, they ask me for an alternative payment option or say they'll have to cancel their membership because the invoice is invalid for business expenses. If I don't offer another payment method, I lose members and money.

@Marcin Hakemer-Fernandez 🤣🤣 Haha, love that! Not quite, but close enough—‘hell yeah’ is definitely a memorable pronunciation tip 😎. Kokko actually means bonfire, so yep, flamy vibes all the way! 🔥😄
Content overload - good or bad?
Do you think offering tons of content in your classroom overwhelms your community, or does it make them feel like they’re getting more value? Are you team "load the library" or do you take a minimalist approach? How do you balance the two?👇

I take a balanced approach to avoid overwhelming the community. First of all I recommend creating a “Start Here” section that explains how the platform works, what members can find in the classroom, when the live calls are, and where they should start studying. Encourage them to be active in the community feed—this helps to keep engagement high, and trust me, it’ll stop them from DMing you with questions! 😅 I would also say it's a good idea to create a basics course about your topic so that people can start somewhere when they join and are excited to learn. The basics course should give immediate value and actionable steps and it should not be overwhelmingly long. Create a pinned post where you ask the community feedback and ideas. Start drip-feeding new content monthly and clearly categorise them in Classroom. To encourage members to stay active you could offer something valuable for those you unlock level 7. Over time, use that feedback to fine-tune the content. After a year, you should have a solid library, and from there, it’s mostly about keeping things up to date. You can shift focus to Q&A live sessions and monthly insights on what’s new in your niche.
