No ice
I saw this on the news and thought it was interesting. It resonated with me too. (It actually sounded familiar ) the recommendation is now no ice on injuries. Instead PEACE Protect, Elevate, Avoid inflammatory, External Compression. Followed by LOVE Let pain guide return to normal exercises, condition mind for Optimal recovery by being optimistic and positive choose pain free Vascualizational cardiovascular activities to get blood flowing Exercise to restore mobility and strength (though they did say there is no harm using ice for pain relief if it helps, it has just been proven to not do what it was thought to do) I'm sure this isn't completely new. But becoming more universally accepted and awareness growing.

@Gary Wilmot it does take a bit of a change in mindset and a slowing down for a bit. Looking at the bigger picture, slow down for a bit so I can hopefully pick.up the pace again later and reduce risk of flare ups and further injuries

@Gary Wilmot yes. Sort of. Did a couple of runs, did parkrun, did some gardening on the weekend. Did physio exercises. Need to find a better "hold the legs down" option though. The hacksquat foot plate seems to put my foot in a funny position and it gets a bit sore sometimes.

It surprised me when I first found put how supportive the running community is. From everyone at parkruns to the local trail running club who I sometimes pass when out running or walking. They all always have something positive to say as we pass
Foam rollimg
Anyone have any thoughts on foam rolling hamstring tendinopathy/tendonitis?

@Gary Wilmot (I thought I'd replied but it seems to have vanished ) Thanks I googled 😀 and there is a lot of different opinions 😵‍💫 I'm back with my usual physio in a couple of weeks and in the meantime I will continue with the exercises Wednesday's physio gave me. They seem to be helping the irritation.

My goal is to focus on calming down my hamstring. A pre-existing injury has flared up recently and it isn't settling
