hey friends, good news, i'm going to start offering weekly hangouts for members of the Stop Wasting Your Precious Life community. the first one is this wednesday, the 15th, and will be a group coaching session! that means each person on the call will have an opportunity to share exactly what you're struggling with, and have a personalized brief intervention from me to help you get unstuck check the calendar to see all the cool stuff you can join in on this month. i'll be updating it over the next few days with more events. warmth, trinley

I grew up too smart for school, so I was always bored there and developed a maladaptive relationship with effort and challenge. Procrastination has been with me ever since I had something to procrastinate on. Novelty was the only thing that seemed to motivate me. Did a BSc in Neuroscience, but with a minor in Educational Science. Then went to study contemporary dance. Worked a bit in that, then moved to Software development. There have switched jobs every ~2 years. But now I'm at a point, that I notice switching jobs won't provide me the novelty, but at the same time, I now have a mortgage and a family, so there's a need for stability and a steady income. We're also planning to buy a house with some land in Denmark (where my wife's from), so the income is essential in realizing that dream. So I'm trying to deal with the current slump in motivation and procrastination for real. I'm currently working my way through Visakan Veerasamy's Introspect, which is already helpful in realizing the forceful way of getting myself going is not working (the track record of the past 20 years is maybe also a pointer). But then I came across one of your threads on Twitter, @Trinley Goldenberg, and it resonated, so I'm here to explore this further, because I can use some support in this.

Living in Amsterdam, building software, but mightily held back by procrastination issues.
