Course, Community and a Podcast... which are all in the production right now! @James Burtt and I were inspired to create a community that offers genuine growth for independent creators in the podcasting space when we were asked to do a live recording at The Podcast Show in London earlier this year, with The Diary Of A CEO's Director of Trailers Anthony Smith. Since then the acorn of that idea has morphed our plans into something MUCH bigger. We initially launched a free community for independent creators that was packed with live training, podcast audits and live Q&A sessions. We named it Pod School We then canvassed our community for what other support they wanted and the feedback was pretty unanimous. New creators wanted a course on how to get started with their podcasts, whilst established podcasters wanted to know how to grow and then monetise their content. So, we looked at which option would add the most value and we decided that we actually needed to do BOTH. So in the next 3 weeks, you will be seeing the launch of the free Pod School community training course, PLUS a brand new podcast about.. funnily enough.. podcasting! I've been thinking about launching a podcast about podcasting for years, launched a course about podcasting during lockdown and even a small community for aspiring podcasters too. But this feels way bigger and this time has a real sense of purpose about it. And doing it with someone who should essentially be my competitor - as a fellow podcast agency owner - shouldn't happen, but it is! It feels we are united in our aim to make podcasting accessible to anyone who wants to be heard, and to provide a community for accountability, along with a course for education and inspiration.
