Leviticus is awesome??
Been studying the pentateuch for seminary the past month. turns out leviticus is actually a fascinating book, learning a lot of stuff i didn’t know. 2 things specifically 1. the whole book can seem out of place for us because it was written to be read aloud. it has a communal intent, if we read it thinking of ourselves only as individuals it won’t make sense. the book is about the good of the community, because sin affects all of us. that’s why the love commandment in chapter 19 (“love your neighbor as yourself”) specifically says to rebuke your friend directly so you don’t have to answer for their sin. 2. idea of purifying the tabernacle is incredible! the people understood that these sacrifices needed to take place so that God would not remove His presence. they kept themselves and the camp and the holy of holies pure to maintain God’s presence on the earth.

G3 cessationist conference 💀
bro every new clip i see of this thing is worse than the one before it. a bunch of dudes gathering to talk about how God doesn’t move anymore and why charismatics are being influenced by the devil just heard a guy say that in the reformed baptist camp, if a preacher commits adultery, they’ll never be behind the pulpit again. but in charismatic camps, they MIGHT be forced to take a break for a few weeks. WHAT?!?!?!? 💀💀😭

Voluntarism
For Duns Scotus, man's will is rational by nature and does not derive such an essential characteristic from the intellect. Just as a thing cannot be separated from its own nature, so will and rationality are inseparable. Since no true rationality is possible without freedom, and since freedom is the proper characteristic of the volitive activity--knowledge in itself is not free, for it is necessarily determined by the object-it logically follows that the highest degree of human perfection lies in the will rather than in the intellect. — Bettoni commentary on scotus
