Want to boost watch time on TikTok? Master mid-screen captions to keep viewers hooked 👇🏻🧵
Want to boost watch time on TikTok? Master mid-screen captions to keep viewers hooked 👇🏻🧵 ____________________________________________________ Why are captions so powerful? - "If they’re reading, they’re watching." Let me say it again: If they’re reading, they’re watching. - Captions keep viewers engaged, even if they don’t fully understand your video yet. - Higher engagement = higher watch time = TikTok pushing your content. ____________________________________________________ Where should captions go? - Most creators put captions at the bottom of the screen. That’s fine, but it’s not optimal. - For maximum engagement, place captions in the middle of the screen. - Why? People’s resting eye position on their phone is in the middle of the screen. - Mid-screen captions grab attention immediately when they scroll to your video. ____________________________________________________ How to make mid-screen captions effective: ✅ Position them at eye level (centre of the screen). ✅ Add effects like popping, sliding, or glowing animations. Why effects matter: - These subtle animations trigger dopamine, making your captions—and your video—more engaging ____________________________________________________ The bonus effect: Mid-screen captions keep viewers engaged for longer, even if they’re not immediately interested in the topic. - They start reading. - Reading leads to watching. - Watching leads to a higher watch time. ____________________________________________________ Key takeaway: "If they’re reading, they’re watching." Your captions need to: ✅ Be visible (centre of the screen). ✅ Be engaging (add effects). ✅ Support your video’s content to retain viewers. ____________________________________________________ Actionable tip for your next TikTok: 👉 Edit your captions to appear mid-screen. 👉 Add a simple animation or effect to make them stand out. 👉 Watch how your watch time improves! What’s your favourite way to use captions in your TikToks? Share your tips or questions below! ⬇️

I’ve been playing with position. I’ll film so my head is a little higher so my mouth isn’t center. Until now I’ve been doing the single word style. How many characters on how many lines do you recommend?
Location vs nieche content
Hi! I have a question about the location, I am super new at this so please be kind lol. I understand that TikTok will show your videos to people close to you. But my chisen nieche is in a different languaje than where I live (I'm from Mexico and live in Canada) What do I do?

Ok I think I’ve found the best solution and I think I’m going to have to do the same. There are solutions that some people post saying change SIM card for a sim the country that you want to post in and use a vpn. But I think that will hurt your account. A better solution is if you have a friend or a sibling back in your home country. Have them log into your account as an add on account. Then whenever you make a video send it to drafts. The. Have your friend in your home country post your videos. I’m going to ask my sister.

Ok this isn’t going to work for me either. When you save to drafts it saves to your devise not your account. So I’m going to have to use a vpn using these steps. 1. Completely turn off TikTok. Swipe the app up off your screen to close it. 2. Turn on airplane mode 3. Turn on Wi-Fi 4. Turn on vpn 5. Open TikTok Let’s see if it works.

Want more views and engagement on TikTok? Use the reply to comments with a video strategy! 👇🏻🧵
Want more views and engagement on TikTok? Use the reply to comments with a video strategy! 👇🏻🧵 __________________________________________ What is it? Replying to comments with a video lets you address a comment directly in video form. You’ve seen it before—when a comment appears in the corner of a TikTok video, that’s the creator replying via video. ✅ How to do it: - Open your comments on a video. - Tap the camera icon next to the comment. - Record or upload your reply video. 💡 Pro tip: This only works on mobile, so ensure you’re using the TikTok app on your phone. __________________________________________ Why it works: Reason #1: Keeps viewers on your page longer 🔗 Use it for multi-part series: - Post “Part 1” of your content. - Reply to a comment asking for “Part 2” with the next part of your series. 👉 This creates a chain effect: - Viewers discover Part 1. - They check the comments for Part 2. - They watch Part 2 and repeat the process for the next parts. This keeps people watching multiple videos on your page, increasing your overall views and engagement. __________________________________________ Reason #2: Boosts visibility for follow-ups When you reply to a comment with a video: - TikTok pushes the reply video (e.g., Part 2) to the people who engaged with the original video (e.g., Part 1). 💡 Key insight: If Part 1 performed well, Part 2 is likely to get strong engagement because TikTok serves it to the same audience. __________________________________________ Multi-part series are powerful ✨ Any part of your series can go viral. Whether it’s Part 1, 5, or 17—if one video blows up, replying to comments with the next part ensures that your audience sees the continuation. This guarantees: ✅ Higher views on subsequent parts ✅ More engagement across your series. __________________________________________ Monetisation benefits 💰 The longer people stay on your page, the more you gain: - Creator Fund revenue (if your videos are over a minute). - TikTok Shop sales (if you promote products). - Affiliate commissions from extended exposure.

I’ve been doing this on all good comments. I don’t know why but it’s much more natural and easy for me to make a reply vid than do an actual planned video. I can plan and script a normal post and it can take me 10+ cuts, then there’s edits, it can take ages. But with video replies I can talk for 45 seconds to a minute totally naturally and in one take. My video replies get as many views as my normal posts and I absolutely love them. My only problem is I’m getting bugger all comments 😂

@Steve Strauss he means make a vid and call it part one. If it was good people in the comments will ask for part 2. Then reply to the comment with your part 2 video.
I don’t know what I’m doing wrong
I’m struggling so much right now. I’ve been posting consistently and doing tts since November 1 and I have learned a lot. I have implemented the tips I have learned in my videos and feel that over the last month and a half my videos have improved greatly. But they are getting lower views than the videos I posted over a month ago that I know are horrible. My engagement is hit or miss as well. Any ideas on what I should try next? I have to make this work.

Hi @Brandi Hannon i would suggest taking a good look at your metrics after you post a video. Have you downloaded the TikTok Studio app? I noticed my metrics were you going up but my view count was very low and not even moving. I contacted support and they did something that seemed to fix the problem. My views are still low but at least there is movement on my account. This is just part of it and what we have to go through. You are going to grow in stages and as much as it hurts, just push through and you’ll get there. I made a video about it. Not sure linking videos is allowed in the forum so I won’t. Search for ‘have you been shadow banned?’ And I should be the top left hit, guy in a black t-shirt ironing a felt Christmas tree 😂

Also switch it up. If you are making long videos make short ones. If you are making something outside your comfort zone speaking wise, try something in your comfort zone and natural. Or all of the other way around. Test test test test and find out what works.
