Un gran dilema
Hey guys, I am doing science fair this year, with this year especially being my first one. (thank you Rishab btw) So far, I feel good about my project and while it is a bit more simple than projects such as ICOR, as a few parts of the project are very niche. However, for my regional fair, the judges in my division can range anywhere in their professions from a doctor to a CS prof. How can I sell my project to these judges, whether or not they are proficient in the field that I am doing? 😅

what is ICOR? agree.... been to competitions where incredibly simple projects have beat out complex ones. not good for science but perhaps good for awards.
Should I go to a Stem high school?
Hello Rishab Academy community & Rishab This is something i’ve been contemplating about recently. There is a well-known Scence and Math academy high school that I can attend. I dont know if i should, as my goal is to get into MIT/Standford/Harvard. I also am interested in doing research, and they have a research program. I’m worried about competiveness, as this is also a feeder school to MIT. I feel that there will be students way more talented than me over there that will take my possibility of being an H/S/M student. What do you think? The course rigor there is also alot so that will leave me with even less time for research and other ec activies. The grades are also known to be pretty bad, with students rarely getting A's and mostly getting B's and A-'s. Let me know what you guys think

absolutely agree with above. don't be drawn to the brand name. there are reasons why there are ivy feeders. 1.) connections to the ivy from the counselors etc. many elite schools hire from these universities. 2.) kids that go to elite schools tend to have lots of funds and join programs that are not related to the school. 3.) Ivy's know the quality of the feeder school and may not be aware of the quality of other schools. typically the best performers from those ivy's have a whole team behind them that is unrelated to the school. nowadays there are ways to show your rigor outside of your typical school curriculum - in fact that shows initiative.
Complexity
I want to ask about complexity. Back from a finalist week and shocked about winners vs non projects. Even projects with zero coding got coding awards. Some of the least feasible and least likely to be scientifically viable or “impactful” projects won. Some of the most advanced ones got nothing. How is this possible?? Feeling like no point to compete.
