Self-Care Sunday: Embracing Regular Exercise for a Healthier Life 🏃‍♂️💪
Today, I want to talk about something that has the power to transform our lives in numerous ways: regular exercise. While we all know that staying active is important, it's often challenging to incorporate it into our busy lives. But the benefits are undeniable, and even a little can go a long way. Why Make Exercise a Regular Part of Your Life? Exercise isn't just about losing weight or building muscle. It's a key component of living a healthy, balanced life. Regular physical activity can boost your mood, reduce stress and anxiety, enhance your energy levels, improve your sleep, and reduce the risk of many chronic diseases. It's one of the most powerful tools we have to improve our overall health and quality of life. How to Incorporate Exercise into Your Daily Routine 1. Find Activities You Enjoy: The best kind of exercise is the one you enjoy and can stick with. Whether it's walking, swimming, dancing, cycling, or yoga, choose activities that you look forward to. 2. Set Realistic Goals: Start with small, achievable goals and gradually increase the intensity and duration of your workouts. Remember, every bit counts, and consistency is key. 3. Make It a Habit: Try to set aside specific times for exercise each day. Treat your workout time like any other important appointment. 4. Involve Friends or Family: Having a workout buddy can increase your motivation and make exercising more fun. 5. Keep Track of Your Progress: Monitoring your progress can be a great motivator. Use an app or a diary to track your workouts and celebrate your successes. 6. Listen to Your Body: It's important to find a balance between pushing yourself and knowing when to rest. Always listen to your body and allow time for recovery. A Call to Action I encourage each of you to take a moment to reflect on how you can make regular exercise a part of your life. It doesn't matter where you start—what matters is that you start. Let's support and inspire each other to get moving and make a positive change in our lives.

I absolutely agree. I'm pretty active. I love to be outside doing what ever I can. Usually, I'm hiking, walking, doing yoga or kayaking. I know when I don't get out to do one of those things it really affects me. My mood and my sleep. I've going a few challenges that keep me accountable. Like the Conqueror Challenge. You get medals when you compete the virtual challenge. I also post on apps like Alltrails or strava. Helps me to keep track or progress and accomplishments. :)

Spotlight Saturday
In this week's Spotlight Saturday, I wanted to celebrate 3 community members who have been going LIVE for the last 2 weeks straight. @Heather Merlo, @Melanie Leveille and @Ashby Bertamini have been going LIVE every night at 7:30 pm MST and have created a really great experience by just simply posing 2 questions each (6 in total) that each of them take a turn responding to and also offer an opportunity for the audience to respond to as well. Most of the time, the LIVE is hosted on Heather's TikTok page which can be found at: https://www.tiktok.com/@heather.merlo. If you're looking to connect with other members of the community, and hear some valuable insights into online business, life and so much more, make sure you go jump in on one of their upcoming LIVEs. Thank for showing up and stimulating some incredible conversations @Heather Merlo , @Melanie Leveille and @Ashby Bertamini! As for the simple question format that they use, I plan on stealing this idea and posting simple questions to help stimulate discussion here within the community as we all work towards "monetizing our life."

Self-Care Sunday: The Critical Importance of Quality Sleep for Our Health and Well-being 🌜
This week's Self Care Sunday is all about a topic that I have struggled with myself. As some of you know, I have been very sick this week and, in my opinion, the illness can be traced back to just over a week ago when I went out of town for work and didn't sleep well at all. Upon returning home, I felt "off" and a couple days later, I ended up falling ill and have experienced the worst sickness that I have felt in years. With this in mind, I wanted to share some valuable insights that I have learned in the last 6 months, into why getting a good night's sleep is not just a luxury—it's a crucial component of our overall health and well-being. This is a topic that has been extensively researched by Professor Matthew Walker, a leading expert in the field of sleep science. His work has shed light on the profound impact that sleep has on our lives, and I believe his findings can help us all lead better, more energized lives. Why Quality Sleep Matters Matthew Walker, the author of "Why We Sleep," presents compelling evidence that sleep is foundational to our physical and mental health. According to Walker, lack of sufficient sleep can affect our cognitive functions, emotional well-being, and physical health in far-reaching ways, including increased risk of heart disease, obesity, diabetes, and a weakened immune system. Creating a Relaxing Bedtime Routine One of Walker's key recommendations is establishing a relaxing pre-sleep routine to help signal to our brains that it's time to wind down. This can include activities like reading, meditating, or taking a warm bath. Avoiding screens and blue light exposure from phones or computers before bed is also crucial as they can significantly disrupt our natural sleep-wake cycles. Designing a Comfortable Sleep Environment The environment in which we sleep plays a vital role in the quality of our sleep. Walker suggests making sure our bedrooms are cool, quiet, and dark. Investing in a comfortable mattress and pillows can also make a significant difference. Remember, your bedroom should be a sanctuary for sleep.

Self-Care Sunday: Mindful Meditation
I feel a little hypocritical writing this given I haven't done a great job of any sort of self-care this week and that will continue today. But maybe, if I could ask you to do me a favour, make a point to practice self-care for yourself today, that you make up for my lack of practicing it for myself! Today's #SelfCareSuggestion for you is to try at least 10 minutes of Mindful Meditation. In December of 2022, I spent a week in Mexico at a meditation retreat and even though I had already been an inconsistent practitioner for almost 2 decades before I went, it definitely took my understanding and appreciation for meditation to another level. Although I still struggle at times to make time for a daily meditation practice, I would never argue the value behind the act. I have taken the liberty to attach a simple 10 minute meditation from Dr. Joe Dispenza (who put on the meditation retreat in Mexico). Feel free to use your own practice if you'd prefer. Who regularly practices Mindful Meditation as a form of self-care?

Since I separated 2 years ago I kinda dived into selfcare. Starting with nourishing my body better, then doing yoga a few times a week, taking more time to do the thing I love rather then always doing the things everyone else was doing. I had a really good bed time routine that consisted of a long hot bath with just a candle and I'd meditate. Started with different guided meditations. I found the bath was the only place I didn't get so distracted by other things. Then I get out feeling all zen like, moisturize and get into bed with book and a sleepy time tea. This isn't something I can absolutely do every evening but I'd say definitely 5 nights a week. Thank you for sharing your meditation. I'll give that a listen later today. I think it's awesome you went you a retreat, something on my bucket list for sure. Happy Self care Sunday all!
