Hi folks, as someone who's just starting their journey on client acquisition from Upwork (2nd method of client acquisition for me, first being cold email), here's what I'm planning and going to do this week 1. Ask my friend to create a (from client acc) job for $350 where I will apply & he will approve me after 3-4 days 2. Ensure my profile is super optimise, with me adding all agency case studies and having created a specialised profile 3. Apply to 2-3 proposals per day, less than $200 with fixed amount, and buying 500-700 connects for applying 4. When I get accepted for the job, do the same with proper professionalism and ensuring client is happy & asking for video testimonial 5. Within 30 days I will get 2-3 low roles and about 500-700 usd total earned, from when I will start applying for higher range projects 6. Hire an intern in my office, and applying for 8-10 projects per day super personalised; to get clients 7. Get Upwork Outbound Paid Community from day 1, so I'm not lacking anywhere and am able to strike my plan with full force. Should I apply to job posts that are "payment unverified"?

The client initially listed the project price as $500, but it's actually a test project for $5. If you do well on the test, they claim they will continue to provide projects regularly. I wanted to check the reviews, and they confirm it's a classic scam where the client blocks freelancers after they complete their work. Key Notes: - Read the job description carefully and watch for inconsistencies in the project scope and payment structure. - Always check the client’s reviews for patterns of non-payment or blocking freelancers. - Payment verification does not guarantee safety. Even clients with verified payment methods can still engage in fraudulent behavior. - Avoid accepting "test projects" for a fraction of the actual project price, especially when the reward is vague or conditional. - Trust your instincts if something feels off or if communication seems unclear.
