Hi Austin. I've been running our first shopping campaign since Aug 15th for a D2C clothing brand (undergarments for dresses and skirts). Budget is $40/day, with a max clicks bidding strategy. We generated 15 purchases in the first 21 days, and only 3 in the 25 days since. Avg CPC is $0.68, CTR is 1.11%, and we average 59 clicks/day. I need to get this moving again. Should I change to Target ROAS, even though we haven't hit 30 conversion/30 days? Try Performance Max? Also, I'm currently advertising only one of the three product lines we offer, which is a newer line and has fewer product reviews. Google's main recommendation is targeting all eligible Shopping products. Should I add another line with more reviews into this campaign? The products are similar enough where a person interested in one line would have interest in the other. Thank you so much!

@Abdullah Al Noman Hi Abdullah. Thanks for the reply. I'm not finding anything standing out as a negative keyword. Also, shopping campaigns don't utilize keywords, only negative keywords. Also, what do you mean by, "Also add some conversion focus in market audience."? I'm cramming as much as I can learn about Google ads in my head right now, and this must not have made it in yet. Google Shopping vs Meta Ads
We're at a crossroads and would love to get some input. I've been running a Google Shopping campaign for a fashion brand's Shopify store for 11 weeks at $40/day. (My first Google Shopping campaign) It started well, but the results have been dismal for the last 6 weeks. I was expecting improvement as the campaign collects data, but it's been the opposite. I tried adding more products to the ad group, but it didn't help, so I went back to the original products. My options: 1) Stick with it and change the conversions to include add to carts in order to gather more data and hope to eventually see some improvement. (I'm not inclined to throw more budget at it with ever diminishing returns.) 2) Start a PMax shopping campaign, even though I don't have close to 30 conversions in 30 days. 3) Drop it down to $10/day and let it gather some data, and switch back to Meta ads, which is what we were running previously. I compared the last 11 weeks with the Google shopping ads to the last 11 weeks we were running Meta ads with the same budget. (Not entirely fair, because we'd been running those Meta ads for a while and have more data.) Meta got us almost 3x as many add to carts and 30% better conversion rate. (Organic social numbers also improve when we're advertising on Meta.) I don't want to pull the plug on the shopping ads too early, but when we've had no results 38 of the last 42 days, I need to do something. My instinct is option #3 and come back to Google Shopping ads when we can afford a larger budget. (By the way, we've been checking out our competition and working on our own business, too.) Thank you both so much for the replies. We aren't running any search, just shopping. I've checked the search terms and haven't found any negative keywords. I looked into Meta data, and the negative impacts of not running ads on the organic numbers wasn't nearly as bad as I expected. I'm focusing my energy on improving our site and the checkout process and I'm gonna let it ride. Do you think it would be helpful to include add to carts as conversions (in addition to purchases), to get more data?

Hi Austin. I know there isn't a magic formula to determine what your ad spend needs to be to give it the best chance for success. (And ROAS is determined by your offer and the quality of the site converting the leads, too.) However, if you were working with a newer, growing brand, is there a strategy to estimate a budget to build to? Is there specific data that can help with that projection? We're spending $40/day on shopping ads and I know that's not enough to get a meaningful return. What information can I use to make an educated guess of where that budget needs to be to get a solid assessment of the campaign's performance? (Our average order is $80, and our CPC is $0.55, which sounds pretty good compared to other CPCs I see in this community.) I understand you can't just throw out a number. I'm hoping there are metrics and a process people in our position can follow to make a realistic budget. Thank you so much for all you do to help us newbs.
Merchant Center Titles for Standard Shopping Campaign
Hi All. I started a standard shopping campaign a month ago for a specific category of our products. There are 6 different styles that come in 7 different sizes. In Merchant Center, does it make sense to change up the title a little among the different sizes to include different keywords and features? For example, the title for an item in size 2 would include "Made in USA" while size 6 includes "Plus Size". I'm wondering if Google would end up serving the ads with titles that perform the best more often. (Budget is $40/day.) Thanks! I'm excited to be part of this community - looking forward to having success and learning enough to pay it forward to future newbies.
