Anyone know of events to attend in the New Jersey / New York City area for upcoming holidays? I haven't attended a Christmas party in years. Lost track of many people when I used to work in the Wall Street area. The usual New Year's Eve and Times Square lockdown for the night in a restaurant near the ball drop until 5 AM gets a bit old. Entertainers are nice but rarely do they have time to socialize. Just looking to meet new people.
Try free certifications that can land you that dream job. Once you get the job, then an employer can pay for the fee-based certifications. There's also free computer degrees online. Just make sure they are accredited schools.
Years ago, I had a girlfriend who complained that I was out of shape. I joined a gym. Then I realized that it gave me a reason to meet other women. So I ended up with 2 girlfriends and showered at the gym. Eventually both would leave because I wasn’t getting into shape. I was just getting laid a lot. Why do I still feel guilty after so many years?
I thought about it and cane to the conclusion that my guilt is not because I was with two different women but because I hurt one that I cared about. One got married with her childhood best male friend. The other is still single and struggling to be a NY stage actress. She’s not someone I would consider a long term relationship. I guess I can move on from knowing this.
I’m wondering if Parallel Live violates the new FTC rules in effect this month. https://www.fastcompany.com/91213954/ftc-fake-online-reviews-ban-prohibited-practices-fraud-list
5 Privileges Ugly People Have 1. You never have to deal with the “friend-zoning” 2. You never have to worry about making the most of your prime years. 3. Never have to enjoy dressing for the occasion. 4. You don’t have to deal with weirdos hitting on you or you hitting on them. 5. You can still enjoy getting & giving compliments. Just some random thoughts in my head this morning even though I’m trying to change things.
@Shawn Ort Those are 5 things that may have to change during a makeover. It starts with admitting what my situation is in a written summary so I can make small changes. It has already begun. I have planned events to attend to meet new people. This week I’m screening 2 movies set to release in theaters soon.
@Karim Gonzalez People keep journals to make small changes in themselves. I posted it to a supportive community that may criticize and critique my actions but I’m someone who needs people like that. Consider this a thank you. I’m in another group on this app that supports my business. After this quarter, I’m probably going to restructure. A supportive community helps me grow personally and professionally.
