Confused about business structure

Quick question. I am checking this system out with the intention of joining to change my financial life around. One point of clarification, please...I see people talking about "sponsors" but I was told this is not MLM in any shape or form. I think I am confused. Can someone help clear up my confusion? TIA

Sponsor is the person you purchase from and introduced you to this. They can help you if you have questions and need guidance finding something. But they make $0 off your sales. After the initial sale, they don't make more from you
